Well it should also be noted that Tebow set all sorts of Florida records for passing. He had some numbers that Pryor hasn't gotten close to in that department; he was much more of a pass-first QB in HS than he has been in college.

I think the hype is great but Saine is going to be a breakout monster this year. I look to see TDs from Saine on kickoff returns and the QBs nor Beanie get on the field! What's great though is to think of the future of Saine and Terrelle leading the team as Saine played his high school yrs with a passing/running QB. (not to take away from our current talent, it's just that the strength of Buckeyes football looks good for some time to come)

Tebow's Stats

3,286 yards passing and 32 touchdowns last season. He also ran for 22 touchdowns, becoming the only player in NCAA history to have at least 20 TDs passing and 20 rushing.

HUGE differences between the teams the two played on. While Tebow didn't have a running back and carried the ENTIRE Gator offense virtually by himself thereby enhancing his statistics, Young had a tailback in Cedric Benson for two years that ran for at least 1,000 yards every year of his career, and then had a trio of good tailbacks in his final year, thereby taking away from his stats.

The other huge difference is Young actually led his team to a national championship and dominated the game at that not just a spot duty fill in.(frosh yr)

Tebow isn't going to make a living playing QB like a FB. He'll have to adjust his game and only time will tell.

As is the case with young Mr. Pryor:wink2:

All Buckeye fans should look at those stat lines from VY's first two years, and then realize Mr. Young also took a redshirt. Those passing numbers his first two years were rather modest. Hopefully, though doubtful, the expectations for Terrelle won't be too high early on.

We should know, it was that trend through his 3rd year which gave OSU fans confidence heading into the 05 tilt. Against a great defense like ours, he'd have to emerge as a passer. And in his fourth season in college, he finally did.

Exactly. It just goes to show, that even the best of prospects sometimes take a little time to develop. VY began to emerge at the end of his 2nd year, and had his breakthrough game vs. scUM in the Rose Bowl. If Pryor follows a similar arc, I'll be quite fine with that. Unfortunately, I think many people will expect VY v2.0 the second he sets foot on the field.
