Well, the computer average last week had us tied for third with WVU and Arizona. However, it comes down to the time of the loss, when WVU lost to South Florida everyone had crowned SF the next national champions, proclaiming they would run the table and be playing LSU in the National Title game. A couple losses later, that talk has died, but it left WVU to rise as a one loss team. The 66 Points they put up yesterday will most likely keep them in the #1 or #2 spot today, and I don't see Pitt putting up much of a fight against them.

Someone already said it in this thread, if we hadn't lost to the Illini we wouldn't have to concern ourselves with this.

Living in S.E. Ohio...25 minutes from the border with WVU, I have to say, I would love for us to beat them in the NC Game. There is something wonderful about driving over there in my Buckeye gear when we're on top of the CFB world. So, I really hope we get there and play them.

Go Buckeyes

I would think that Wv would drop slightly in the computer rankings on SOS, which does not take into consideration the scores. If we were tied with them before yesterday and with them having to play pitt they should drop, JMO.

I hate to beat, punch, kick, abuse a dead horse, but I think it is because we got trounced by the Gators last year and scUM and Bucky Badger underperformed this year.

I actually wonder if WV laying it on UConn could backfire a little, if that was the second best team in the Big East, then the Big East must really suck.

Perhaps West Virginia will figure out that they need to schedule good non conference games if they want recognition.

They didn't play anybody

This really amazes me, so I'm going to ask a serious question. Do Buckeye fans truly think that Akron, Kent and Youngstown make up a good non-conf schedule? Or, is this all some elaborate joke?

Do Buckeye fans realize just how pathetic the rest of the nation considers that lineup to be?

I can't speak for them but I'm assuming most comments like that are geared toward WVU's lack of respect overall and not just this year. They are asking why the national perception of them is so poor and thats the exact answer I'd give them as well. Year in and year out they don't play tough OOC and the BE is always pretty weak. The B10 is weaker than normal right now but its just a down cycle that will get fixed, its not the norm.

We are well aware our OOC sucked this year but over the long run its not the norm. We just finished a home and home with Texas and start one with USC next year. JT has stated many times he wants one serious big time OOC test every year, problem in '07 was that when we scheduled them UW was still good.

Edit

I guess what I'm saying is our worst schedule year is about average for them.
