XBox 360, PS3 or Wii? ( ESPN on 360 for TWC)

My Wii has collected some serious dust as of late, but it will probably get dusted off for Smash Brothers. On the other hand, I'll be playing my PS3 even more once GTA comes out. PS3 is mostly used for Rockband right now though.

The PS3 only has three exclusive titles that I have actually cared about since its launch (Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted) Any game that comes out on multiple systems I usually buy for the 360 for the sole purpose of achievements and the online community. Plus I beleive that the 360 controller is easier to use with first person shooters. The wii is a great party system but that is all it is mainly used for at my home. Although it still gets alot of use since smash bros just came out and mario kart is due out in a couple of weeks.

What was the cause of your RROD, and was it an easy fix?

sorry for the delayed response.

It turned out to be only a temporary fix. I just unplugged everything from the Xbox for awhile then plugged it back in. It then worked 3 weeks, then happened again.. worked for about 1 hour, happened again and never worked again

While playing my Xbox 360 this morning my electricity went out and the dreaded red ring appeared. I unplugged the unit, the power came back on at my house, I turned on the 360 and it's seemingly working fine. Anyone know if the red ring occurred because of the power failure or should I be worried my system is about to blow up?

Were there 3 red lights on, or 4?

If the entire circle (4 red lights) were on then you'll be ok. The 3 red lights probably aren't a good sight.

I think it was all 4 but I'm not sure. Played it this afternoon and everything seems fine. I've got my fingers crossed.

Honestly, I think that if I were choosing between the 360 and the PS3 now that I would get the PS3.
If you're a casual gamer, I think the PS3 is a better value due to the bluray. I may pick one up in a few years if there's a sale for around $300.

If you're a hardcore gamer who loves online play, the 360 has a noticeable edge.
The 360 has too many headaches with hardware failure and games freezing with a disc error in the middle of playing.
I've noticed this being more of a problem with the early models... haven't had a single problem with mine, which features the newer hardware. Just get it from Costco and get it replaced same hour if it breaks down.

I agree. My old one from launch had issues. My new one runs very smooth so far.

The biggest difference between the 2 systems at this point, IMO, is the library is so much bigger for the 360. I haven't found many family oriented games for the PS3 yet, and certainly none that are unique/exclusive to the PS3.
