Elder is on ESPNU now. 20 carries for 199 yards and 2 TD's with 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter

And that's against Brentwood Academy, which is a pretty good team. They have Jalen Ramsey and company.

I just love watching Mr Elder play. Great all around player.

Corn Elder wowed by Ohio State, win
October, 21, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Almost immediately after Ohio State?s 29-22 overtime win over Purdue on Saturday, Cornelius "Corn" Elder (Nashville, Tenn./The Ensworth School) went to his official Twitter account and showed the Buckeyes some love.

Who could blame the ESPN 300 running back -- he?s ranked 238th overall -- after the way Ohio State came back to win?

When the Buckeyes drove 61 yards with 47 seconds left and converted a two-point conversion to send things into overtime, it was hard not to marvel at the 105,290 in attendance and cheer a little bit from his sideline seat at The Horseshoe.

?It was the best game I?ve ever been to,? Elder said. ?It was a great atmosphere. I love the campus and the coaches.?

Rivals$--Do the Bucks lead for Elder?

Corn says the Buckeyes are his leader. He doesn't have other schools in any order.

I watched that interview and I don't think he said we were the leader. He says we're "at top of the list" and clarifies later that he doesn't have an order and that we're with a couple other teams "at the top"..

Now that was before his visit, so I dunno if the visit changed that.

So top of the list isn't the leader especially when he cannot rank any other schools?

Guess I interpreted it differently...

24/7 - Elder still thinking hoops

10/24

Despite his success on the football field for Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth High School, Cornelius Elder is still thinking basketball.

Elder is a two-sport impact player

In an ideal world, the 5-10, 165-pound Elder would play just basketball at the high major level. The one high major to approach him solely for basketball is Alabama, who is in search of a point guard. The Tide coaching staff is expected to watch Elder on the court this high school basketball season.

A number of schools are recruiting Elder, an all purpose back and safety on the football field, to play both sports.

Just this past weekend Elder unofficially visited Ohio State as a football recruit but also met with head basketball coach Thad Matta.

Elder also lists Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt who are recruiting him in both sports.

An official visit to UCLA is scheduled for November 16, and Elder will then get a gauge on UCLA's interest in him as a basketball prospect.

As he is on the football field, Elder is a gritty basketball competitor with an athletic burst and feel for winning games.

He is a four-star football recruit, ranked No. 163 by 247Sports and No. 192 in the 247Composite.

As a basketball prospect, Elder is a three-star prospect, ranked No. 128 by 247Sports and No. 179 in the 247Composite.
