'05 MD LB Rico McCoy (Tennessee signee)

The side bet might be Gwaltney who is still undecided but might be leaning toward the Bucks right now. The Trifecta is either Boone, Oniel and Wells or Wells, McCoy and Gwaltney. Speculation, because I know nothing.

Wagering on Boone and O'Neal has been closed for some time - they shouldn't be part of any trifecta.

If HH is confident that tells me the staff is being told good things. However, as we have learned with Jarrett, Walker, and others even that is not always enough.

(HH isn't Schlichter is he? :) )

Lemming is predicting McCoy to OSU per todays insider story. Side note Boone and some of the Iowa commits have formed some nice friendships are are set to dominate saturday on the O-Line. Good luck on McCoy and your other prospects saturday.

To kill some time while I wait on news about Rico...

...I wanted to get your guys thoughts on something that I have noticed this recruiting year that I don't think I have every seen before. (and even though this my first post here, I have followed allot of recruiting years) I have been lurking on the free Tenn. boards and it seems that they expect to sign 10 players that are at this years AA game. This belief seems to be fueled by their gurus. (Hubbs has a "good felling" about Rico and Lewis calls him a "lock") If it were just Rico that wouldn't be anything different then what I seen before. But it seems to me that the gurus are doing this with all the top players that they are after.

It's as if the gurus are trying aid the Tenn. recruiting effort by building a feeling of "BIG MO" about their class. That or I'm spending to much time looking for a "sign" on Rico and my brain has been fried.

Either way I wanted to know what others thought.

They don't expect to sign 10 players, but 10 players at the AA game have them in their final group.

McCoy Chooses

St. John's All-Met linebacker Rico McCoy will announce today that he plans to play football for Tennessee in the fall, McCoy's father, Reggie, said.

McCoy, who will be a team captain for the East team in today's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, chose the Volunteers over Ohio State. He made 118 tackles and rushed for eight touchdowns this past season for the Cadets.

"It was a mind and heart situation," Reggie McCoy said. "His heart has been with Ohio State for a long time, but looking at this situation, he figures Tennessee will be the best place for him."
