Jovani Chappel, a 5-foot-8, 175 pound, cornerback from Trotwood Madison High in Dayton, Ohio., has committed to the
Pittsburgh Panthers. Chappel originally committed to
Purdue, but had a change of heart after his recent official visit to Pittsburgh. "I decided last night to commit to Pittsburgh" Chappel said. "Both Schools were equal in terms of environment and opportunity" Chappel said. 'I just felt so comfortable with
Dave Wannstedt, I feel I’ll be developing a great player coach relationship with him.” Chappel is currently ranked as the No. 31 cornerback in the nation according to Scout.com and will graduate in December.
“I look forward to graduating early and playing spring ball at Pitt.’
Anymore surprises in store from Chappel?
“No, I’m done. I always had Pittsburgh and Purdue in my top three, so I’m glad I visited both and made my choice. I prayed on it a lot and Pitt is where I want to be.”
