'09 OH ATH Justin Turner (Michigan signee, Hawaii commit)

Video interview...talks about what positions he seems himself playing at the next level. Talks about what the schools are saying to him and also talks about what it's like playing for Massillon.

If he's interested in playing time, I hear that Michigan has a few openings on the offensive line and at the quarterback position - they may actually have to hold tryouts to the student population just to fill them.

Actually they do or have, already.

So it's not like a precedent has not been set.
Now, back to Turner ....

By Brian Snow...more on the commitment...said he had been thinking about it for a long time and after seeing both schools was ready to decide.

Best of luck to JT...say what you want but I really like this kid and wish him nothing but the best [except against OSU, obviously].

On a side not, I wouldn't mind seeing the staff send an offer overnight express to Corey Brown...Brown reminds me a lot of Turner...big enough to play over top but quick enough to be recruited as a CB.

Choosing a college based on who you grew up cheering for isn't always the best decision, even for football players.

But we get a lot of players based off that. Best of luck to Justin Turner. But I fear, for him, that he will suffer a similar fate to that of recent Ohio defectors Prescott Burgess, Shawn Crable, and Mario Manningham. We didn't miss those guys, and while I'm sure the staff would have loved to have Turner, we won't likely miss him.

I agree with everything you said...Obviously would of been great to get as he is a very good player, but glad it happened in a year when the DB's are just oozing on our big board...Vlad from Florida is one to watch as is Brown like you said...

I don't root for OHIO kids who choose scUM over tOSU either, but Justin Turner is a fine prospect.

I don't understand how Justin can commit to tsun when he has everything he could possibly want in a school in his home state and have the chance to play for a man like Jim Tressel. Especially concerning given the recent reports out of scUM where DickRod's values were questioned by a legacy.

Simple math, Jim Tressel > DickRod. One is a classy gentleman who has shown the ability to put guys in the league, the other has made numerous coaching and ethical questionable decisions and been associated with some real dirtballs (Chris Henry, PacMan, etc).

I guess the lone bright spot here is Turner gave Tress enough notice to offer other DBs.
