It probably helps our SOS and RPI but I don't think that the Selection Committee will remember us beating them so early in the season. I seriously doubt if they look at all the games but I could be wrong

If it comes down to us vs. Cuse or they are for sure in and we are close they will look at the win...

Especially with it being at MSG and them being fully healthy at the time...No Devendorf now...He played vs us...

I don't think that's necessarily true. The overall profile is more important. I'm looking for the specific examples but I know there's been several big east bubble teams through the years were they've been close in profile were the team with the better profile went over the team with the head to head win.

What we really need right now is teams like Butler, Drake, Memphis and others from one bid leagues to win their conference tourneys. A10 bubble teams like Dayton, UMass, Saint Joe's, and Rhode Island to continue to pick each other off.

Agreed. The committee definetley looks at how you play towards the end of the year too. So the Cuse game will mean nothing, if we don't start getting some quality wins.

Their win over Georgetown is more separation between us and them than us beating them in November

You will get no arguement from me that the Bucks need to get a quality win or two, but it bears mentioning that when discussing Syracuse's resume nobody is taking into account the fact that they are currently ranked 9th in the Big East. Yes the win over GTown yesterday was a good win for Syracuse but it didn't elevate them ahead of us. They still have more work to do than us, and if we both finish strong our resume will trump theirs. We don't really need to worry about them as much as just taking care of our own bussiness.

NCAA Basketball Bubble Watch - CBSSports.com

'CBSSports.com producer Brian De Los Santos assesses the resumes of teams that may be sweating it out until Selection Sunday'

Has tOSU as 'fighting for scraps'....
18-12, 9-8 Big Ten
Pros: Strong non-conference and overall schedule. Wins of note: Purdue, Syracuse and Florida.
Cons: Lost four of last five. Only one victory vs. a team in the RPI top 50. Losses at Iowa and Michigan.
Outlook: Their schedule is about as tough as it gets, but it doesn't help that they basically lost most of those tough games on top of losses to Iowa and Michigan. Victory over Purdue was a start toward redemption. But it can't stop there, a victory over Michigan State is just as important to the bottom line.
Last game: def. Purdue 80-77 (1OT)
Remaining schedule: March 9 -- Michigan StateMarch 13-16 -- Big Ten Tournament

As I said in the Buckeye game thread, more good news for OSU as UMBC wins and heads to their conference tourney final. Good for the favorites to win, plus OSU beat them.

Need Drake and the other conference favorites to keep some cinderella teams out.

I thought it was pretty interesting that Joe Lunardi on ESPN had Florida and Syracuse as part of his last four in the tournament when we beat both of them.

That was before Florida lost to Kentucky...I would bet he has them out now...

I would also bet he has us in right now, but I really see the only for us to stay in is to beat MSU once again...

It is very possible, but we are going to have play a very good game to do so, because you know MSU doesn't want to go into the tourney with two consecutive losses to us...

One other thing to note, I don't believe that VCU will get in, they would of if they would of made their conference final and then lost, but they lost in the semis...

This was during the 6pm Sportscenter after most of the games were over, but I see this morning he has Florida listed as out and us in.

I understand punishing UF for losing at home to UK. What I don't quite understand is how beating a non-NCAA team booked UK's ticket to the dance. Seems like a strange double standard to me.
