2009 Instate Players to Watch

After having watched all the '09 LB's film, here is the order I like them in:
1. Julius Ferrell
2. Storm Klein
3. Will Studlien
4. Mike Marrow (though I see him at DE)
5. Adam Homan

I would like to see us get just Sweat this year then take Klein, Ferrell, Whiting, and Bell is possible next year, with Studlien, Marrow, and Homan as great fallback options.

I personally like Klien more than Ferrell. He seems better at shedding blocks and moving sideline to sideline. Ferrell does seem like a brick house, but he's not nearly as explosive as Storm.

Potential...I think Storm is the better LB at this point but Ferrell has more athleticism imo (no slight to Storm at all, as he is very athletic as well). Either way it's no biggie because I could change that opinion every time I watch the others highligh...they are 1a and 1b.

I agree with your list 100% RB07...Klein and Ferrell are 1A and 1B for me since seeing that new video of Storm's. Studlien and Marrow are just behind them and Homan rounds out my top 5. With 25 offers Studlien is likely not a fallback option, IMO...I think he sees an offer. Marrow is one they may wait on to see exactly where he will fit in. There will be some other names to pop up, but a few I can think of are Jacob Green (Cincinnati Wyoming), Tyler Scott (Warren Howland) and Melvin Fellows (LB/DE like Marrow from Garfield Heights).

Cornelius Carradine is another player I have heard good things about...already 6-foot-5 and 215 lbs. Likely projects as a DE.

Do you know what # Green is for Wyoming? We played them last year and Graham may play them again this year. Studlien may not be a fallback option at all with 25 offers but I'm just wondering how many LB's we will take. If we land Hale this year (at DE imo) you would think we would have a good shot at Dorian Bell...if we could land Whiting, Bell, Ferrell, and Klein then I wonder if Studlien would be good enough to become a 5th LB in the class. I do think Studlien will end up with an offer though because landing all 4 of the aforementioned will be tough and not to mention they are all only going to be juniors and have plenty of time to grow. Marrow is an example, as I see him ending up at DE.

I see us taking 4-5 LB's in the 09 class, also depending how many LB's we take this year (Sabino is likely the only other LB we will take if he wants to come to OSU). After the next 2 seasons we lose Freeman, Laurinaitis, Grant, and Terry.

Thanks Wad...I remember Jacob but as a TE. He was very impressive on the film we watched at TE. Wyoming has had a fair share of talent these past few years. I agree though now that I think of it 45...Moeller is at safety, Hines and Rolle both could end up there as well, Grant is gone after this year, and Sweat may be the only LB we take in this class (Sabino will be hard to pull of and Hale is DE all the way no matter where he ends up imo). Then Freeman and Lauranaitis are gone soon as well. That only leaves us with Spitler, Rolle, Homan, Hines, Gibson, and Johnson, so good call 45...I see us taking 4 though unless we just get a coup of Bell, Whiting, Klein, Studlien, and Ferrell.

I agree with you guys about Klein and Ferrel being 1A and 1B...

They are both studs...I also don't think that with Ferrel being 230 already that it would be out of the question for him to end up at DE...

With that said there is no reason to not think that Studlien can't be in that group...He reminds me a lot of Hawk...

I would love to land a class of them 3 and Whiting...It is still very very very early, but I don't think it is out of the question to think that they could all 4 earn offers, especially with a big number of schollies next year and 1 already having one and another very close...

Now I am just ready for some Dlineman to start emerging in this class...

With Barnett, Mason, Turner, Fields, Klein, Ferrel, Studlien, Hall, Simon, Harris just to name a few that I fell that will eventually be offered, that would be a great start b4 we even get started on out of state kids...
