And not your fault really. There are alot of posters on BP who live in Georgia now. I'd be shocked if they didn't all nod their head in agreement when I suggest that recruiting Atlanta is a whole different ballgame than recruiting the rest of Georgia.

Last I checked, Atlanta is in Georgia...but I suspect it is different than Gawja. :wink2:

So long as y'all send some more Cameron Heyward types up here, I don't care what part of Georgia they come from.

By the way, watching Crowell use a live Bulldog puppy as one of his commitment accessories was pretty funny.

We better hope no top rated Mich. recruit steals this idea from Crowell in the future. The press conference could be ugly. On second thought, there hasn't been any correlation between top recruits and UM for awhile.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Michigan recruit mauled by a wolverine.

It would certainly prepare him for the what is becoming an annual right of passage in November.

Texas has benefited from the population shift as much as anyone....espn is full of it...although once the ink is dry on bevo network the numbers will change....Ohio still has great football and football talent its evident when teams match up in Herbies classic etc

I know Georgia has great high school football but how the fk do they have more top 150 prospects than Cali and Texas...this I do not believe

It was just a very, very deep year for the Peach State.
This happens maybe once out of every 15 years. The last time I can remember it happening was in the late 90's.

Looking into the future, don't be surprised if you see Georgia drifting between 4 and 6 in terms of states producing the most recruits in the top 150.

I can see this, however....with how vast Texas is in particular and all the paranoia i have amased from the television contracts and peeing match between Disney and Fox color me suspicious...I know its subjective and changes year to year but dang

As long as Georigia is in the SEC and ESPN ranks recruits, that'll be the case...

Bruce Feldman had an interesting stat that I can't verify but he said something to the effect of...

"CA has 4 times the number of high schools as FL"

I have no idea if that is true but he was defending the talent in CA by saying it was more spread out than most of the talent in FL...

Just found it interesting...

California has quantity not quality in HS recruiting when compared to other talent hotbeds. I did the breakdown awhile ago, but I think the number was about 8 bcs recruited per capita. When my internet comes back on I will track down the breakdown.

This is from memory, so it is a little rough, but the numbers were close to this:

Bcs recruits per capita

8 California
14 Texas
14 Florida
14 Louisiana
14 Mississippi
13 South Carolina
12 Ohio
10 Pennsylvania

Texas has quantity and quality. So does Fla, but not like California and Texas' quantity

much of the south east region has comparable density of bcs recruits, just not the overall volume.
