Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

So I just went and checked.... Alabama has the following schedule

Louisville (in Orlando)
Arkansas State
@ Ole Miss
Texas AM
UL Lafayette
@ Arkansas
Missouri
@ Tennessee
BYE
@ LSU
MSU
The Citadel
Auburn

Not defending Alabama's scheduling - instead citing a league rule.
Whenever you have a bye week - your opponent for the week after shares the same bye week. So LSU is off that week as well.
Same for UGA and Florida, we have open dates before the cocktail party.

2018 LSU Football Schedule
Sept. 1 vs. Miami (Fla.) (in Arlington, Texas)
Sept. 8 SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
Sept. 15 at Auburn
Sept. 22 LOUISIANA TECH
Sept. 29 OLE MISS
Oct. 6 at Florida
Oct. 13 GEORGIA
Oct. 20 MISSISSIPPI STATE
Oct. 27 Open Date
Nov. 3 ALABAMA
Nov. 10 at Arkansas
Nov. 17 RICE
Nov. 24 at Texas A&M

Still though... They get a bye before the Auburn game every year and before LSU (their two most crucial games). I realize LSU gets a bye too but lets not fool ourselves where LSU is in relation to Alabama.

The fact that they get to "gear up" for their two biggest SEC games is a joke. Not to mention their annual neutral game against their marque non con is always game 1 which gives them the entire spring/summer to prepare for.

Staffer-attacking Alabama LB one of four FBS players to officially transfer to FCS Tennessee State

One of the more infamous figures from this year’s national championship game has officially found a new home.

Earlier this week, it was reported that linebacker Mekhi Brown, who drew a personal foul for punching a Georgia player in the title game shortly before going after a ‘Bama staffer on the sidelines, would be transferring to Tennessee State. Friday, the FCS school confirmed that Brown is one of four transfers from FBS programs who have been added to its football roster.

Conferencing in west Florida I had a few hours to kill so I ventured into Sabanland. First, and last visit to Bama was quite depressing. The number of pudgy, sad sack middle aged guys wearing washed out "Alabama" t shirts - on just an ordinary Tuesday afternoon - was hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

Buckeyes want to win the championship. Tide fans need to win it. Those poor bastards had to be damn near suicidal when Zeke drove the dagger into Saban's black heart. What else are these guys going to hang their hat on?

It goes to show that with the right coach and enough money you can win anywhere - does Alabama have any players who are actually from Alabama? Can't imagine there would be more than a few, and who the fuck would go thousands of miles from home to go to college there without football?

Roll damn Tide.

I used to think this. And then I spent some time in Tennessee.
I lived in Alabama for eight years. Bama fans are, on aggregate, the most batshit insane fan base in the country. I hate them greatly.

That being said, the only difference between my Ohio Walmart expeditions and my Alabama Walmart expeditions is that there are significantly fewer black people here. The number of dead-eyed sad sack Buckeyes puttering around in school gear is the same.

I would put the Cookeville, Tennessee Walmart up against any in Ohio. I was assuming Bama Walmarts would be similar.
