Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

Since we got bama fans on board, let's get views on how nick saban would handle the situation if it were happening with him?

I'm a bit frustrated here...

Why in the hell is everyone already claiming this new QB is elite? Based off of 1/2 game a football against a defense that gave up 40 to Auburn and 50 to Oklahoma?

So half a fame of football means we clearly know someone is good or not? By the way that's with no Calvin Riddley now also.

Just tired of hearing how unstoppable their offense will be because of a half a game of football.

Dwayne Haskins and the people who are questioning whether he's one and done say hi.

Agreed which is why I was a Burrow guy... potential is there for both but let's see first
Being Burrow makes that arguement even funnier, because he never even played a meaningful snap.
I get the optimism around Tua, because he did it on the biggest stage in CFB, just like Haskins didn't look like a deer in head lights in The Game, when even some upperclassmen have been known to get rattled

Eh to me he didn't take a lot of meaningful snaps but he's seen a lot of reps.

Regardless I don't get how people can rank the Alabama kid in the top 15 players based off of a half of football. Of which the opposing defense had no film to study and had no idea about him.

Perhaps give Georgia a week to prepare for him and it's different. I'm going to call it that Haskins out does Tua.

Uh, so have you ever heard of a guy named, Cardale Jones? Same scenario, except produced in 3gms with no game film. And after winning the NC was projected as a lottery pick, and even had to have a national press conference (which even surprised him) to announce that he was going back to school! Welcome to college football, where the future is always more enticing than the present

Yeah I get it... still annoying that these people have taken so much stock in his half a game.

As you said CJ played 3 games at a higher level then that kid and still wasn't this highly regarded

CJ was actually more highly rated... He started in only 3gms in his collegiate career, after losing the QB battle when Braxton went down and was only in due to injury. Barrett never played so poorly to where they were forced to put CJ in like in the Bama scenario. Tua deserves his praise much like CJ deserved his
