Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

Agreed which is why I was a Burrow guy... potential is there for both but let's see first
So you're for a guy who had ZERO meaningful game time experience versus the dude who came in cold when OSU was down 6 to SCUM and tore up a defense that was giving JT fits all game. Sorry, had to point that at.

As for why people think highly of Tua, well Saban went to back-to-back NC games with a dude who made Barrett look like prime John Elway. I mean say what you will about that Georgia defense, they were on the verge of shutting Bama out with Hurts in there and Tua came in cold and tore them up. I don't think Tua will be elite but I do believe he'll easily be the best QB Alabama has had there since Saban took over, and we all know Saban can win a NC with a bag of rice under center.

CJ was actually more highly rated... He started in only 3gms in his collegiate career, after losing the QB battle when Braxton went down and was only in due to injury. Barrett never played so poorly to where they were forced to put CJ in like in the Bama scenario. Tua deserves his praise much like CJ deserved his
CJ never got the nod as a top 10 players in college football.

So in a half a game people are convinced he's a top 10 QB ? He doesn't deserve anything YET.

He probably will be a fine player but deciding someone's elite after a half a game is nuts.

I never said Haskins is top 10 player though. Potential is there but I wouldn't call him top 10 until I see it consistently.

He came in against a defense that had reviewing tape of Halen hurts all year. There was minimal tape on him and I believe that lack of insight on the young man helped him.

Just like the lack of film on Dwayne helped him against scum. Let's see how the two do when defenses realize what they're playing against.

SKULL SESSION: MORE URBAN MEYER INVESTIGATION DRAMA, ALABAMA FAVORED AGAINST EVERYBODY, AND ROBERT SMITH'S HOBBIES

ALABAMA VS. THE WORLD.
We transition straight from more talk of the Meyer investigation to discussing Bama's absolute dominance. One of you is going to burn me in effigy today, or at least send me an extremely strongly-worded email.

Reminder: All complains should be sent to [email protected].

Through three games, Alabama is outscoring opponents 170-28, which works out to an average score of 57-9, and two of those games were against Power Five teams that are otherwise undefeated.

The Tide look straight up unbeatable so far, and Vegas agrees, as Alabama would be more than a touchdown favorite over any team in college football, with the Buckeyes having the narrowest spread at 9.5.

But hold on! They haven't played anyone, yet!

Texas A&M heads to Tuscaloosa this weekend to give Bama their first ranked challenge. There's really no telling how good Alabama truly is until it plays a good team. That said, the Tide are winning that game by 30 this weekend.

I'm not sure I'd pick the Bucks to beat Nick Saban's fellows today, but I'd absolutely take 9.5 points.
