Celtics-Bulls First round series

Of course other players talked smack to each other. My problem with KG (and I think most reasonable people would agree) is that he's so out in the open about it. I mean, does he really need to scream F U this and F-got that before and during every game, not just to his opponents, but also to the crowd? Sorry, but that's unnecessary junk from a punk.

And I don't recall Jordan or any other respectable athlete every doing that nearly to the degree KG does. I guess the rest of us are just a bunch of anti-Celtics that hate Kevin Garnett because he's wearing green.

Suddenly I'm a Boston fan?

Boston is lucky that Rondo is either having the series of his life or turning into a star. Paul Pierce has shown up and disappeared like a deadbeat dad. He made some big shots in OT, only after being invisible for the last three quarters of regulation. If it weren't for Rondo the Bulls would've won this series 4-1.
Dammit Brad Miller.
He had a bloody nose and a tooth knocked loose. Tough to make FTs after getting your clock cleaned like that. But the second one he should have been able to bounce off the rim.

Not calling that a flagrant foul with two seconds to go was a chickenshit move by the refs. Rondo whacked him in the jaw when Miller already had the ball above his head while shooting.

Credit to Paul Pierce for making 4 tough Js, though. One with about 10 seconds left in regulation, then 3 late in the OT. How the Bulls let him take the last one in the same spot as the previous one baffled me.

The Bulls and Rondo definitely got away with one there. Miller should have taken himself out of the game for a better free throw shooter to come in. Would have been justified under the circumstances.

Agreed. If you'd make the call with 10:02 left in the game then you should make the call with 0:02 left as well.

Miller is usually a decent FT shooter - something like 85% on the season. He was either distracted by getting his tooth busted out or he choked under the pressure. He had a long time to think about those FTs.

I think it's more like a bunch of Cavs fans who became anti-Celtics after losing game seven to Boston last year, only to see Boston win their 17th NBA title 2 weeks later. If Cleveland had won that game seven and went on to the title I doubt there would be nearly as much time spent repeating the same criticisms of Garnett and company over and over, again.

Perhaps the Cavs will finally end Cleveland's drought this year.

I think the game of basketball at all levels needs to do something to correct this problem. Rondo, under the rules of the game basically had nothing to lose. Hack the shit out of the guy,the worst you walk away with is another OT. First off, the flagrant foul should have been called. In these situations, with little time left in the game, I think it should be at the discretion of the Refs to call "Bucket and ball." That is, you flagrantly foul a guy going to the hoop, then award the basket and give them the ball as well. With that consequence out there, I think this crap would disappear real quick. If the ref can award a basket for "goaltending" which is basically "assuming" that the ball will go in because it's above the rim, then why not be able to "assume" that these world class athletes would have made a layup if not flagrantly fouled by the opposing player?

Peace.

Personally, I don't hate Kevin Garnett. But I've hated the Celtics as a team since the '60s.

Exactly, just listened to Mike and Mike, Van Gundy admited that it was a flagrant foul, but you "Can't call that in the final minutes of a game" Seriously??? All I know is if that was Eddie House knocking over Derrick Rose that it would have been a flagrant. But the problem was it was Rondo fouling Brad Miller... Needless to say, the more I saw it, the more it looked like a flagrant foul to me.

But Miller HAD to shoot those FTs, if he left due to injury Doc Rivers would have been able to pick anyone on the Bulls to shoot those FTs.

False. I have the same feelings (and have been quite open about them) towards Rasheed Wallace and the Cavs have owned the Pistons the past couple seasons. I liked KG in Minnesota, it's when he went to Boston and turned into a fucking clown that I started hating him. Why does he have to make that stupid face like he's trying to push out cigar box out of his ass all the time?
