Game Thread CFP Semifinal: Ohio State vs. Clemson, Sat 12/31 @ 7p ET, ESPN

Beck Ed easy targets. This is all on Urban .,..only he can fix it. All this being said we are the only program in the Big 10 capable of winning a NC.
Sure they are easy targets because they are accountable for the shit show we have seen for 2 seasons now on offense. Just like in any company you as the CEO/Owner/Leader are only as good as the folks that you hire to execute their roles under you. Yes, it is on Urban as the CEO to fix it. He needs to review the staff and results and make the necessary changes for the long term success of the program. The Buckeyes and Urban could be talked about in the same breath as Alabama and Saban over the last few years had the offense and defense both had the right folks in the right roles over the last 5 years. No doubt the talent is there.

There is not a CEO in college football other than maybe Saban that can fix this..Urban can and will do it..

Meyer: Okay, that sounds... like a decent... complementary play to sprinkle in with some sort of base package that really attacks their weak LBs and DBs vertically and/or in the middle of the field.
And when I say vertically I mean a ten yard pot pass to the TE, or a quick V route to Samuel out of the back field... or a slant.

We don't need 20 yard post patterns to attack a defense vertically in the middle of the field.

Who did he say should be fired in order to make OSU unbeatable?
Lol. It was a tweet. There was a lot not said but the implications of what was are obvious.

Dinardo said last night it's either coaching or players since those are the only two elements in the equation. It's probably some of both, but the coaching element was glaring and on full display last night.

But I actually agree with the sentiment you are going for. This team was/is young - although after 12 games, that shouldn't have been as evident as it looked last night. They did exceed my expectations this year, but if you earn your way into the CFBP you expect to look like you belong there. You have to also just credit Clemson for being a really fine football team with excellent coaches. And finally, this happens in sports. You have two quality teams, but one puts it together better, they get momentum, and things snowball.

All that said, my 8 year old nephew was asking me last week if the Bucks would fix their passing game and come out of their funk. My answer was that they would. They had a month to work on weaknesses, study the Clemson defense, put in some wrinkles, break tendencies, and be more dynamic. What we actually got was whatever that was last night. Jim Bollman was embarrassed by that plan. Tressel was screaming at his TV, "What are you doing?" Lol.

No. Urban fixes it by firing the offensive coordinators and hiring innovative guys that can translate Urban's vision of the offense. If Urban tries to do it himself he will be back to the same coach he was at Florida his last year that needed to take a leave of absence from coaching. That won't do anyone any good.

So I wasn't dreaming or blackout drunk last night. That actually happened.

What's breath taking to me is how @alexhortdog95 called the offensive struggles shortly after Beck was hired. Not only that but the supporting detail which he offered.

No small coincidence it would seem.

I mean, he wasn't the only one. Beck had a terrible track record. So did Withers - his defenses in the NFL and at Purdue were laughably bad. That's also what worries me about the new defensive hire Davis.

Some people just interview much better than they can actually coach, as with all professions. That's probably what made Beck and Withers such great recruiters.

Herman great hire Beck not so much admit your mistake and move on..the trouble is men like Urban have trouble admitting mistakes..Urban it's your move now. I am Buckeye till I die so I will be 100% all in just like the last 50 years.
