Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Does anyone know the rule? How was Bell's hit a personal foul? Head up, no crown, led with his hands.

Going high to a receiver in the air in an AutoFlag in the NFL at this point. Doesn't need to be helmet to helmet at this point.

Well, when both move back, it's a shift. At least that's what it says in the Rams playbook.

The refs "Let them play," early according to Collinsworth. This followed: "There?" NBC play-by-play man Al Michaels asked while watching the replay during the broadcast. "You tell me."

"That's what they called. Wow. In a game where there have not been that many ticky-tack fouls, that was close." NBC color analyst Cris Collinsworth said.

The Bengals lost the '82 SB by 5 points, '89 by 4, last night by 3.

It will clearly take something special to break the sequence and actually win the championship before three or four SB appearances from now. I think Joey B and Co. are the guys to do it.

I don't know who stays and who goes on defense but they need to spend every draft pick they have on OL (almost seriously). They need an entire new unit.

They need to decide what to do at CB - Waynes has been injured most of the past two years. They either need a healthy Waynes or another CB.
Otherwise, I'm OK with the defense as-is.

OL had injuries but, honestly, they were below average if healthy. I think they need a new IOL and they need Reiff to recover at a minimum.
Really unfortunate that they wasted a high draft pick on Carman. Could really have used a 2nd-round-quality G this year. Carman does not have special powers.

Yep, I said the same a couple pages ago. Maybe change up the OL coaching, as well. I don't know anything about Frank Pollack. I see they have already added a coach. Derek Frazier, formerly of the Jets and this past year with Univ of Wyoming, has joined the Bengals as of this morning. That's from the Football Scoop, so I'm sure it's true.

Obviously disappointing to lose when I really felt we had the game under control. But that was an experience of a lifetime and the Rams fans and LA folks treated the Bengals pretty darn well overall. Ran into Peyton Manning on Saturday in Santa Monica and that was really cool. Got plenty of SB LVI swag to bring back and man was that stadium cool. Absolute party outside the stadium before the game and met some really awesome people. And the Bengals fans had about 70% of the stadium, absolutely rocked the stadium and felt like a home game. Proud of our fans for seriously showing up in a big way.

Obviously we HAVE to fix the OL between FA and draft picks, someone hit the nail on the head in saying the OL was below average even before the injuries, though the injuries greatly made the issue worse. We need one solid CB and pretty much a whole new OL other than Reiff if he recovers. Good news is we've got a lot of money to spend and we're a young team, I truly believe we'll be in the SB again soon and bring one home under Burrow. Great season and a lot to look forward to next year. Who Dey!

Not an NFL fan, but, great post, RB. I hope that they win next year.

Thank you. I think they might be the favorites to win it, but a lot has to go your way to get to the SB and then win it. That's really the only reason I was bummed we didn't win it this year because we were so close and it's hard to get there to have another opportunity to win it. But I do think we'll get it in the upcoming years.

I don’t even have a problem with this. Refs were missing calls all game. People have a problem with the refs swallowing their whistles for 58 minutes only to start calling ticky tack shit for the team that so happens to need a score.

I believe that this is the argument that causes Miami fans to believe that they won the national championship in 2002. I believe they say that they were holding our receivers all game long, so why should it matter in overtime?

Admittedly, it was not ticky tack holding they were doing.
