Cleveland Indians (2019 Thread of Indifference)

And once again, Max Freaking Kepler hits three home runs in one game against the Indians.
Max Kepler with another 2-homer game against the Indians.

And Jack Cave, who entered the game 13 for 74 (.176) with one HR and 4 RBI, goes 2 for 3 (raising his average to .195) with a 2B, a HR, and 3 RBIs.

And the Tribe goes down to the Twins once again, 6-2, to fall 7.5 back on the division leaders. Awful, just awful.

Somehow just 5 back and the next 12 games are Tigers (29-61), Royals (34-62), Blue Jays (36-60) and Royals again.
In that same time frame, the Twins have a four game series against the A's and three games against the Yankees. Could gain some more ground in that Central race.

Regardless, the Tribe are keeping pace in the Wild Card race, which is great to see. However, August is going to be very difficult.

August is going to be very difficult.
I do not understand what you say this because as mentioned above our schedule mainly consists of Kansas City, Detroit, Toronto and a little Minnesota thrown in. I think we also play Houston at the end of the month but that is really the only decent team that we play the entire month of August. Maybe I am wrong about the schedule but I think it looks fairly favorable for the Indians.

Being serious, this is season is going about as I expected- minus everyone being in the infirmary. It's hard to care too much before July considering the recent expectations and post-season runs. I fully expect the Tribe to keep rolling now that the weather has warmed up. Par for the course it seems like with this group.

Maybe get the arms healthy and who knows.

Starting July 30, Indians play home against Astros (3 games), Angels (3), & Rangers (3). Then road trip to Twins (4). Home for Red Sox (3) and back on road to Yankees (3). That’s 20 games in 20 days (no days off), all against teams over .500 including the three AL division leaders. That’s about the most difficult 3 weeks as any team has this season.

I must have been looking at another team's schedule or maybe I was looking at a different month. That schedule paints a very bleak picture for the month of August.

Mickey Callaway doing the Indians a solid by whooping up on the Twinkies.

Tribe starting this little 14-game swing 3-0. Muck Fichigan, etc etc. Just 4 GB now.

I have to admit it’s pretty weird watching them beat up on Detroit when they took the Negin bat up the poon from them for so many years. It’s almost surreal
