Fear The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I was hugely disappointed! They started off with an hour of "Family Problems".
WTF?
I'll DVR it in hopes it gets better because it can't get worse. I'm already thinking it's a flop.
Right, because zombies!!!111!!11!! is what we expect from a show the creators have repeatedly said the humans dynamics are the most interesting. I thought it was fine so far. Watch the first 15-20 minutes of the Dawn of the Dead remake...it exquisitely showed going from nothing to chaos. That's the point of this show. It has to start at nothing, or it is just the Walking Dead again.

Naaaa! You just can't waste an hour of a new show showing a dysfunctional family and keep the audience.
Show us more action, less family dynamic, please!
But the critics seemed to like it and that's usually the kiss of death.

Not so much turned off by the slow crawl start w/family conflict, as by the fact that they didn't present a single character that I felt any empathy or attraction toward--feed 'em all to the zombies, I say.
The feral side of human nature seems to be what these creators go for, which admittedly is not for everyone, but does explain the lack of sympathetic characters. If anything I expect this to show that self-absorbed harpies with boyfriends drawing fake tattoos on their arms are exactly who get fed to the zombies...which is OK. Its only 6 episodes, so the action will pick up quickly.

It was better, we went from As the World Turns to the beginning of the catastrophe. Leaving the food was stupid. I guess they were panicked they had just "killed" the principal? She should have already known better, though.

Liked this episode a little better.

But why, after all that, did they leave the food behind?

LOL my fiance shook her head and said "I see you react to this just as you do the other show..." because I started laughing and pointing out that after ALL that they walk out empty handed. Different show. Same shitty writers/directors/producers.

edit: It's not as bad as my above comment may seem suggest, because so far I like it. Still, room for improvement.
