My realistic expectation...

OSU 52 and Texas 13

Texas will score only one touchdown... mark my words. One.

In Colin Cowherd's words, "Come on now, this is big boy football". I think we win and we shut down their offense...but if we beat them by 39 points, I'll eat a bowl full of Thump's back hair.

...let's not let our scarlet glasses skew what looks to be a VERY difficult game.

You guys looked nominally like a top 10 team in beating a living-off-their-reputation mid-level MAC team.

Texas crushed a team that would easily give Miami of Ohio a run for their money.

Advantage Texas.

Okay...same thing for you. Take off the burnt orange visor...UL Lafayette gets beat by Miami just as badly as Ohio State was beating Miami before we sent the freshmen in. You guys demolished a team that is a 1 out of 10 on the Division 1-A talent scale. We handily beat a team that is a 5 or 6.

We don't know much more today than we did on Friday. Your scout team could have beat UL-L and our game was a tune-up.

Funny!!!

It's funny to see fans on both sites rant and rave. Horns.com and here. I see this a battle!!! Texas o-line is going to be a test for OSU we must keep them off our Linebackers. Texas has not got the respect of being #2 by sucking. I think VY will get yards and points against us but really in my mind it's stopping the rest of the Horns that will be our test. The TE is impressive in open field and WR's are good enough to get space short. I do think Youboty can hang with anyone in the nation he showed that by stopping and shutting down Braylon Edwards something Texas could not do. NOW Everett worries me which means we will be looking for help against the Texas #2 WR which means Whittner and Salley helping out alot on Everett's side or on the slot. I do not think Texas can rush against us but I don't think Pittman's performance against Miami of Ohio's defense means our rushing problems have been solved. We need Haw to be involved and perform well. I do not think Texas is ready for our WR's which we will use to open up and spread out their defense. I mean I love Ginn Jr.'s talent but I look for Holmes to explode in this game. Holmes,Ginn Jr., Gonzales,Hall, Dukes, 3 out of 4 with 4.2 to 4.4 speed in a spread offense...WOW.. Texas must prepare for both Justin and Troy??? "ouch" I would hate to be the Texas DC. Texas will focus on Ginn Jr. just like we will focus on Young. I think Holmes is the player of the game on offense for the Bucks. I see a explosion of offense from both teams and a high scoring Instant Classic 34-27 OSU but I think Texas is very much there at the end of the game and then it's all up to gut check time on both sides. I sure hope I'm wrong but would say more right than wrong.

You've got to be kidding me right?? Texas' secondary is better than OSU's?? This past saturday we faced a better corner than you have and we saw how that played out.

We have a better #1 corner than you have, and both our safties are better than yours how the hell do you say you have a better secondary?

Lets say you do have a better secondary (which I think is the dumbest remark I've heard yet). Lets consider who each of our respective secondaries will be facing? OSU will be going up against the likes of sweed and shipley who can't catch a damn pass? Texas will be lining up against the likes of Ginn/Holmes/Gonzo/Hall/Hamby/ and Dukes.

So pretty much in this game it dont' really matter who has the better secondary because we all know who has the better recieving corps. So this will give the bucks secondary the better day on Sept 10. Quite frankly thats all that matters....

That's an ignorant statement. There's a hatred that Arkansas feels for Texas that Ohio State's crowd can't possibly approximate. It's one of the most bitter rivalries in college sports. Playing in Columbus will not be as difficult an environment for Texas as playing in Fayetteville.
will it be as difficult as playing Arkansas in Austin??? 38-28 Hogs SOOOOOOEEEY!!!! :slappy:

Vince Young is going to be in a world of hurt. The WRs our defense faced in the Miami game are as good as anything Texas has, and we flat shut them down. Against our first-team defense, Miami went 15-32-1 for 145 yards and 0 TDs passing and 179 yards total offense. Young will either have to learn how to pass during this week's practice or have the rushing game of his life against us. If not, it could be a long night for Texas...

Hmmm, interesting comments. Ignorant, but interesting.

Vince Young put on a show in Pasadena last January and will likely do the same in your house Saturday night.

You cannot stop him.

Texas is always everybodies biggest game of the year. Now its your's.

Yawn.

Horn's roll 35-14.

I find it hilarious that you get so much confidence from barely scraping past a crummy Michigan team on a neutral field. And as your your labeling our comments "Ignorant," you've destroyed any credibility you might have had by this post and the post you made claiming that La-Lafayette would give Miami a run for their money. Mount Union could beat La-Lafayette. You and VY need to tone down your confidence.

Yeah, this guy doesn't seem to realize Miami has TWO Wr's that would be starting at Texas right now. Miami would flat out crush La-La. Mid-tier Mack team? They are one of the top tier teams and could win the MAC this year. You should try to know what your talking about before you open your mouth on a subject.

I guess we will see...by the way Michigan is our Biggest game every year regardless of any out of confrence game. You know the same Michigan team you beat by 1 point and we rolled and smoked 2 weeks prior. I respect Texas but I hope all of the Texas players feel the same way...just would make a victory that much sweeter.

LaLa would lose to Miami by 45 points man. Miami is just like Texas they love to run up the score on the lesser teams.

Personally I wish Tressel would've left the starters in the game for alittle longer in the Miami game but we're talk'n bout a game that was clearly out of hand. OSU would've beat Miami 42 or 50- ZERO if we left our starters in.

LaLa is not even close to Miami's level. not even close....

Did I mention its not even close?

I think sacosud is right on with his assessment (though I don't think they'll have to do a lot of game planning for zwick). OSU's game left a lot to the imagination for this Saturday's game, but Texas's left even more. Not a whole lot to gather from that game at all. How open does LaLa have to leave the opponents wide receivers, honestly? And how about that LaLa rush defense? All day, baby. We're better off watching game tape of the rose bowl last year.

::takes scarlet glasses off::

This is gonna be a battle of 2 fronts: Buckeye WR/TE's vs Longhorn DB's and Longhorn O-line/QB vs Buckeye front 7. Being as though all four units listed are both teams' strengths, this should be as hard a ball-game as either team has seen in quite a while. I can't wait for the game. Gonna be a home game of a magnitude that we haven't seen since the michigan/osu game in the horseshoe in 2002 when we gained a berth into the national championship game. I've got my tickets ready for this one, and I'm tuning up my voice ahead of time. Don't wanna be hoarse before halftime. My prediction: Vince Young will start.

::puts scarlet glasses back on::

For what its worth, 40 acres made my day, seriously. I laughed so hard, I actually teared up a little bit there. Sounds like our longhorn friend needs to do a little bit of research on his opponent before he enters their message board and leaves looking like a kicked puppy. When you come back, please elaborate on how "good" our linebackers are.
