Isaiah Pead (official thread)

The possibility of Pead getting an offer will increase over time. With this class possibly having room for 11 more players (Jenkins, Gholston and Laurinaitis leaving??). I believe the chances for either Woods or Pead or both getting an offer would increase. Just have to wait and see how the number play out.

The "speed" guy right now seems to be Lamaar Thomas and I would assume the staff would like to see what happens with him before sending out any more to guys who have the same skill sets (Woods, Pead, McGuffie, J.Adams). The staff is in love with Thomas right now.

FWIW, I drove Pead home from our friends party/get together this morning (1 HR ago) and he was talking about how the coaches were concerned about his grades and how he is enrolled in some classes at Eastmoor (or some other school) to get some more credits. He thinks OSU will in fact offer him as long as he gets his head on straight with his grades. He KNOWS he can beat out DJ Woods and J Adams for an offer.

He had a huge OSU banner across his garage door!

He is all Buckeye

I will keep in touch with him......

Informative stuff there bucksfan. Hopefully Pead can get those grade issues handled. You have to pull for a kid who is willing to do the extra work needed to qualify and earn an offer - whether that extra effort is in the classroom or on the field of paly.

Eastmoor Academy tailback Isaiah Pead rushed for 1,891 yards and 25 touchdowns last season.

As if Isaiah Pead's breakout season in 2006 wasn't spectacular enough, he garnered even more attention when it was over.
Eastmoor Academy coach Jim Miranda, as is his annual custom, produced individual highlight tapes to serve as a study tool for the players and also to distribute to college recruiters.
"Nobody's going to give a kid a scholarship based on my word," said Miranda, who doubles as the Warriors' girls basketball coach. "Basketball recruiters see all the prospects in AAU summer ball. In football, you've got to work a little harder to get a kid seen."
