Joe Haden (Cleveland Browns)

Despite the fact that's it's extremely unlikely that a Browns fan would ever feel like swearing in a player's thread, I think moving this thread from the recruiting area to the NFL forum might save some trouble someday.

I really hate this pick.

That's all I'm saying. Gotta hope for the best.

Why? I don't think there were many other options. Everyone loved this kid before the combine. As far as I know he didn't get worse at football between the end of the season and the combine.

When LeBron James wore that hat to the Indians' game it wasn't cool. Cleveland definitely didn't like it, we made a huge deal about it and, as sports fans in this town, we'll never forget it.
But just as wearing that hat represented a new level of sucktitude, on Monday night at the Cavaliers game, Joe Haden represented a new level of awesomeness.

I'm really starting to like the guys the Browns seem to be building the team around.

Cribbs, McCoy, and Haden all seem like quality people off the field here in Cleveland. Haden is hilarious btw, as they've shown him quite a few times this year courtside or in a suite at the Q going batshit crazy for the Cavs even when we're downright terrible.

I watched a little of the Cavs game last night and he dressed up as Andy, wig and all. He's working pretty hard to be the most liked athlete in Cleveland. Hopefully he keeps it up.

I'm hearing that Joe Haden is playing pickup basketball at my old Highschools (Geneva High School) Students vs Faculty basketball game for the winter sports season. I don't know why he would be in Geneva of all places or if he knows someone but I just find that to be unbelievably awesome. We're almost an hour east of Cleveland so for him to take time to drive out there and have fun with the students and staff is pretty rare.

Talking about the highschool or the Complex? In which case I'd say the latter makes more sense. I wonder what it would take to get him to show up for some type of pickup football?

No he was at the highschool playing. After every sports season the athletes/faculty/safety forces have a game. Volleyball, Basketball, etc... (used to have a football game but my junior year we got into it with some local cops on the field who were reliving their glory days in a flag football game so that ended).

Anyways, Joe showed up and played in the Safety Forces game on the students team. He did some work on the cops/fireman I hear from a buddy of mine who was in it who got a layup swatted into the backboard. Also threw down a couple dunks.

Afterwards he came up to the bar we were all at for the Buckeyes game. He only stayed in the bar area for maybe half hour or so but he seemed cool and had a couple drinks with all of us before going over to a private area to eat dinner.

He's got one HUGE "Gator Boy" chain around his neck though that is pretty ballin' (choice of team aside).
