Jordan Hicks (Philadelphia Eagles)

Maybe a change of thinking is very much needed. tOSU doesn't take a back seat to anybody. Not now, not ever. tOSU has as much if not more to offer any recruit than any other school. A few recruiting services had tOSU with the no.1 class just signed. 3 apearances in the NC game with a NC trophy. The future has never looked brighter. I'm Buckeye proud.:oh::io::osu::)

I'm sure no one things tOSU takes a back seat to anyone (at least on this board), but at least people are reasonable enough to see that there are other top flight programs that kids might be interested in. And when one kid has made it CLEAR that one school he's is Texas, people simply acknowledge it. Jordan recently said very favorable things about tOSU so that's a real positive, but he's also made his opinions on UT well known as well.

Interesting if Daune said he was the most complete LB he's seen out of Ohio...it's not like we haven't produced a fair amount of star power at that position.

Are you saying that the NCAA is going to come in and tell us that we can't sign Hicks because they gave him to us?:shake:
In all seriousness, I think it was Duane that said Hicks is the most complete linebacker coming out of Ohio he has ever seen. That's good enough for me, I hope we pull all the stops to get him here!:osu:

Wow...I think he may end up being the best but D'Andrea was pretty tough. If he wasn't injured, I still say he would have been a stud. As to what wisebuck said...we just have ground to make up. It seems his visit to OSU certainly helped but there is a long way to go in his recruitment. Sure we are right up there on top of the world but so is Texas, USC, and Florida and Hicks was originally from the south. However, I believe we can make up the ground but it will be a battle.

Lakota West junior LB Jordan Hicks (6-2, 210) is still undecided about which all-star football game to play in for next January. It seems likely Hicks would be invited to the Under Armour game in Orlando (Jan. 2, 2010) and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl (Jan. 9, 2010) in San Antonio.

But, there is no word on a timeline for a decision from Hicks.

We reported before that Hicks and teammate Alex Smith (UC recruit) were invited to the Under Armour game, but no word either about Smith.

Journal-News: Dayton, Ohio, news and information

Lakota West junior LB Jordan Hicks has begun narrowing down his list of college choices. West coach Larry Cox said last night, March 30, that it?s down to about 15 schools after starting the process with around 50 offers.

?He?s just a kid finding his way,? Cox said. ?He?s only 16. He?s got a lot on his plate for a kid his age.?

The goal for Hicks, who doesn?t turn 17 until June, was to have a top 10 list by spring break, which is next week.

?We?ll see if it happens,? Cox said. ?It?s tough.?

Here?s the list of schools that have offered Hicks: Texas, Ohio State, Florida, USC, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern, Boston College, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Virginia, Oregon, Stanford, Miami (Fla.), Kentucky, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA and MAC schools.

Likely what has been circulating amongst the various boards...family wants him in Ohio.

Like I said a month or two ago, don't throw in the towel on this one...

I just watched the Archie Griffin special on the Big Ten network the other day, he said his number one school was Northwestern, but as he was getting on the plane for his official visit to Northwestern his father told him that his family would really like to watch him play... and the rest is history

the oppurtunity to play in front of your family is definitely a large influence for some kids that may get overlooked with the initial excitement of the recruitment process but ultimately is the deciding factor

What grad said. Plus, anytime a guy gives your school a ten, you gotta like your chances.
Thanks! To both o' ya'.

On a different note, I think a haul of Hicks and McVey would be a great for the LB corps this year, especially in addition to David Durham, who seems to be more LEO.

Don't fall asleep on Jamel Turner, 80. If Hicks comes on board, would there ever in the history of OSU have been 3 more explosive, athletic guys at OLB than Hicks, Turner, and Dorian Bell? All potential tremendous difference makers. McVey's production shows that he may belong in this group as well. Great to feel optimism return to this thread.
