Actually, I just put it together reading this. At this point it's archival premium info. Nevadabuck on Rivals alluded that OSU backed out of the Simmons recruitment because Thad didn't play the impropriety game. Nevada also has a strong connection in the U of A basketball program.

Sad thinking about it now. Thad's no snitch, stayed true to what was right, and paid for it with his job. Sure there's a lot more to it, but I'd imagine he could have opened the Nike coffers for some 5 star handouts.
