EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP)—Lakers center Andrew Bynum(notes) has apologized profusely for his flagrant foul on Dallas guard J.J. Barea(notes) during Los Angeles’ final playoff game.
Bynum suspects he’ll be suspended to start next season.

Bynum was ejected for throwing a flying elbow at Barea during the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 36-point loss in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series last Sunday. Barea landed hard on the ground, and Bynum took off his jersey while leaving the court.
Bynum said Tuesday he regrets his classless exit from the playoffs. He says his actions were terrible and unacceptable, and they don’t represent his upbringing or the Lakers’ values.
Bynum was suspended for two games in March for a similarly hard foul on Minnesota’s Michael Beasley(notes).

had he done that immediately after the game, it would have been a little more believable.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP)—Lakers center Andrew Bynum(notes) has been suspended for the first five games of next season for his flagrant foul on Dallas guard J.J. Barea(notes) in Los Angeles’ final playoff game.

The NBA announced the suspension Tuesday, two days after Bynum was ejected for the foul in the two-time defending champions’ 36-point loss to the Mavericks in Game 4.

The NBA also fined Bynum $25,000 for ripping off his jersey while heading to the locker room.

My hate for Stern intensifies.

that's ridiculous. what's the most games a player has ever been suspended for, though? Maybe Rodman for 10 when he kicked the camera man?

Artest was suspended for the remainder of the 04-05 season starting 11/21/04 for attacking a spectator (and starting an all-out brawl). Missed 86 games total (13 playoff).

oh wow, I totally forgot about the Artest thing.

Google and Wikipedia are like the chocolate and peanut butter of information. If two people bumped in to each other in the street, each using one of them, they would combine to form the greatest resource of trivial knowledge known to man. Googlepedia, or perhaps Wiikle.
