And I don't think McCarthy is the third coach - his name is too long to fit into the redacted area of that paragraph. So that could mean that 2 coaches still on the team made over 3,000 calls.

we have several guys currently on the staff who was here during that time frame.

of those, only a couple were here during the entire time that the calls happened (most were hired near end of '09 season).

Studrawa was rumored to be the guy when the McCarthy/Hicks story broke, so if I had to guess, his name is one of the ones redacted.

At least SI had something regarding LSU in its headlines....can't say the same for the worldwide leader in Spin.....

The NCAA has scheduled a conference call to discuss LSU's 2009 internal investigation into improper contact between an ex-coach and former player.
A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that the call concerns LSU's probe of former receivers coach D.J. McCarthy's dealings with defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, a junior college transfer who never played for the Tigers. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the NCAA is not publicly discussing the matter before the announcement.
McCarthy resigned in late 2009. LSU has asked the NCAA to accept self-imposed punishments that include the loss of two scholarships and a reduction in official visits.

And in related news.....

The school said in a news release Thursday that it paid $6,000 in December for printed information and DVDs of game footage and highlights of 32 California and Kansas junior college prospects eligible to sign national letters of intent in February. LSU also got footage of two players it hadn't asked about, one from 2008, and 91 pages of largely outdated roster-type material from junior colleges in California and Kansas.
LSU is cooperating with the NCAA investigation, and several football coaches met with an NCAA official on campus last week.
The NCAA is looking into Oregon's $25,000 payment to Lyles' firm and his involvement in the recruitment of running back Lache Seastrunk of Temple, Texas.
The probe is focused on what exactly Oregon obtained from Lyles. In recent interviews, Lyles has said that he and the Ducks both knew he was selling access and influence with highly recruited players.
In March, ESPN.com quoted former Texas A&M cornerbacks coach Van Malone as saying Lyles told him the school would have to "beat" an $80,000 payment offered by other schools to get former LSU star cornerback Patrick Peterson to play for the Aggies.
Peterson, who played for LSU from 2008-10, has said Lyles had nothing to do with his recruitment or college choice.

His dad was the head coach at my high school. Coach Denny Studrawa was a great guy, and Greg is a chip off the 'ol block. Hope it isn't him that is involved....

Talked about Geiger's "unacceptable" evaluation regarding JT's compliance process....

So more hardhitting, first run news from the World Wide Leader of Suck. This is why the Women's World Cup games were the first time that channel has been on in my house since the last college footbal game I watched last fall.

And even that is misleading. He got rated "excellent" in 10 of 12 areas, but was rated "unacceptable" in terms of self-reporting rules violations in a timely manner.
