Mike Dontonio (get off my lawn!!!)

He comes across to the media as a smug m'fer. But he was flat out one of the best D-Coordinators I've seen in my lifetime at OSU, and I'm proud that he was here when he was. Anyone who helped the Bucks win a NC is a friend of mine.

Go Bucks
Fuck Sparty

It's hard for me not to notice that in the next two trips we made to the NC after he left, all the team brought home with them was embarrassment. Granted, there are tons of factors that go into winning vs. losing a game, but I've always wondered how those two contests would have turned out if that one variable of having/not having Dantonio on our sidelines was different.

I could see MSU having a "down" year. 2014 MSU was all about Cook distributing to Langford and Lippett... limit those two (as Ohio State did), and they had no answers. Now they're gone and probably back to leaning heavily on Dave and stout defense.
Speaking of which, their D wasn't great last year ... it's hard to gauge how they'll be year-to-year b/c Dantonio relies so heavily on developing diamonds in the rough... but if it doesn't take off, they could be in some trouble. We'll also have to see how much they miss Narduzzi.
If Hairball can conjure some kind of magic with that junk roster... he could make a game of it. He got by at Stanford developing lower rated players like Dantonio... can he do it in Ann Arbor? That remains to be seen. Harbaugh's staff looks like the biggest question mark to me... NFL castoffs, nepotism, jobs-for-players, and legacies across the entire staff. It doesn't look like a recipe for success.

I personally think that Dantonio is more of the defensive genius than Narduzzi. We will see. Hairball doesn't have Andrew Luck. He has guys that couldn't beat out Devon Gardner and an Iowa grad transfer. LOL.

I'm just not gonna be objective about the cockweasels roster, so you'll have to forgive me. M*ch*g*n players suck even when they don't and therefore I think Dantonio goes hate crime on the weasels and Harblah.

So with all the recent talk in Herman's thread about being our next HC... how much hatemail would I get if I regarded Dantonio as an option in the future?
Being at MSU... feel kinda safe stealing him from there, and doesn't seem like he's going South. Part of me almost wonders if he's just waiting for Ohio State while building his own monster?
Herman's success at Houston will likely land him at a more ambitious location in 2-3 years (before Urban retires/whatever) - god forbid, SEC. Would he leave - say LSU or Georgia - for Ohio State? That's a hard proposition asking somebody to leave one blueblood for another.

Am I the only one that puts Dantonio in the same potential future HC category? Or is this likely to generate BBQ-levels of push-back?
