Mitchell Report Fantasy Draft

I want a different kind of asterik for some of these guys. The one needed for Bonds/Sosa/McGwire and Clemens is too easy.

This would be for the other guys on that list, like the 11 former Reds named.I want it in their official MLBPA bio(because they sure as hell won't be in the record books) next to their stats.

It should read:

Nook Logan*This dumb son of a bitch took steroids to stand 6-3, weigh in at only 180 and hit 2 fucking career HR's.

...or something to that effect based on that particular players individual level of suck. I then want the slappy emoticon to end it.

Living in the Northeast, I'll tell you that football is a distant second around here. This is baseball country. Sports talk radio talks Mets and Yankees 24-7. Even the day after a big Jets or Giants game, all you hear is Hot Stove. If the Pats weren't undefeated, I'm sure it would be the same in Boston. It's probably the same way in St. Louis and maybe even Detroit.

I think fantasy football has brough a lot more casual fans to football than baseball could ever have because of the watchability of the sport to the casual observer. Outside of that, I think you have to go city by city to determine what is king. Los Angelans will tell you basketball is king as I'm guessing people from Miami will too.

I understand your point, especially living in the Northeast myself (RI), but on a national level football is easily king and it isn't even close right now.

College football and NFL football have the country by the balls.

Mitchell: Findings are solid

NEW YORK -- George Mitchell said naming names was the right decision and said he was prepared for Roger Clemens and others to deny they used performance-enhancing drugs.
"We made every effort to establish the truthfulness of the information that we received," baseball's steroids investigator said yesterday. "Several of the witnesses were interviewed in the presence of federal law enforcement agents who informed the witnesses that if they made false statements they would subject themselves to possible criminal jeopardy. So there were very strong incentives to tell the truth."

Andy Pettitte used human growth hormone to recover from an elbow injury in 2002, the New York Yankees pitcher admitted two days after he was cited in the Mitchell Report.

Pettitte said he tried HGH on two occasions, stressing that he did it to heal faster and not to enhance his performance. He said he never used steroids.
"If what I did was an error in judgment on my part, I apologize," Pettitte said yesterday in a statement released by his agent. "I accept responsibility for those two days."
On Thursday, Pettitte was among 85 players named by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell's investigation into steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. Pettitte had not commented publicly on the allegations.

Mitchell Report fallout also includes the bizarre

Retailers pull out all the stops to boost holiday sales, and that goes for sports memorabilia stores, too.
Consider the offer made last week by online retailer Steiner Sports Memorabilia: Buy an autographed baseball Wednesday night, and if that player's name appeared in the Mitchell Report the next day, the buyer would get a $50 gift certificate.
It was called "The George Mitchell Special Offer!"
Except some fans didn't find it so special. Steiner Sports sent an e-mail to customers Thursday expressing "its sincerest apologies to those who were offended" by the promotion.
