Ohio State 85, Tennessee 84 (final)

Their ability to get to the foul line was pivotal. They shot 29 free throws in the second half - that's like 58 in a game. It's odd.
Dear Coach Pearl,

Live by the three, die by the three, one things for certain, you won't get fouled jacking the threes and fade away jumpers and praying to get hot again.

Once the 30 foot bombs from the scorers' table stopped falling, and the good guys started getting some of the boards, your defense went to shambles. You can't set up your half court defense on a fast break, and you can't run your full court press if you don't make a bucket.

Flailing wildly at Conley and Lewis in the paint is generally a very, very bad idea.

We'd thought you'd have figured this out in January.

Regards,
- D

Tennessee was as good as any team in the nation during the first ten minutes of that game. Luckily the team didnt panic and throw in the towel like a majority of the fans in the game thread.
This game thread, or pretty much any game thread where Ohio State (Football or Basketball) isn't a complete blow out in OSU's favor?

I was close to making an "it over" post, but luckily I though better off it.

My wife keeps asking WTF is wrong with this team coming out sleep walking for the first half in both the games so far?
I have no answers..............

Sometimes it doesn't matter how well you play...when the other team is redhot, you just ride out the storm and hope to make the most of your next chance.

Even Matta has expressed frustration at his teams slow start.
(Said he was pissed. Post game, last night.)
Maybe they're just worn out with the long grind of this season?
And everyone comes out fired up to play #1.
