Pirates tidbits (2011)

And the Brewers complete the sweep, making the Bucs 3-36 their last 39 games in Milwaukee. That's almost impossible to be that bad.

Today was extra special as the Pirates had the 3rd out in the bottom of the 8th on a strike out only to have the batter reach on a wild pitch. Ryan Braun singled in the tying run on the next pitch, then they won it in the 10th.

Always nice to beat LaRussa's ass whenever possible, like last night.

Bucs 6
Cards 2

After the game, Pedro Alvarez was sent down to AAA. :ohwell:

Bucs-Cards going extra innings, and guess who is umping home plate tonight? Good ol' Jerry Meals, he of the infamous blown call in the 19th inning at ATL.

That bastard owes us one.

Lost game one 8-1, but holy shit the Bucs finally beat the Brewers in game two.

They chased Grienke of all people to do it, 9-2. :pirate2:

Had to wait a couple of hours for the rain but the first national broadcast in years was a success, beating Tim Hudson and the Braves in ATL. That's a pretty nice win to get to 53-47. :pirate1:

I still have no idea how the fuck they are playing so well.

Yep, it was a fun first 100 games. Unfortunately, they play 162.

Having gone 14-35 since then it is now official...the Bucs will complete their 19th losing season in a row in a couple weeks. :ohwell:
