QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

JT is definitely no Joe Bauserman. He can play and he's a leader; I don't think "the moment" will be too big for him. He understands, as does the coaching staff, his limitations. We have a creative OC that will find ways to continue to stretch defenses and keep them guessing and a defense that will hopefully play up to the potential we expect of them. This is an unexpected and disappointing turn of events but a fantastic opportunity for the young man. I'm not speaking disparingly of Cardale but I feel in better hands with Barrett taking the helm and having two weeks to get into that mindset before kickoff on the road. The kid is used to pressure coming from his HS days in Tejas and I expect great things out of him. VT & MSU will be some great tests for him but he's got plenty of talent in his supporting cast....time to begin his legend.

I don't follow the progress of the young guys, typically. I watch the games and say "so-and-so did well, and this other guy didn't do well." So I don't know much about Barrett or Jones. I do know that Barrett moved ahead of Jones in the depth chart, but are we writing Cardale Jones out already?

The way I see it is while this sucks we still have a high shot of winning it all. I think with Braxton Tom Herman would've been more likely to run Braxton due to that being a comfort. However now I think our offense will be much more inclusive then ever. What's the point of all this recruiting if all we do is run our QB on power or draws? Now I feel Samuel, Jalin, Dontre, Zeke, Dixon, Clark become that much more involved. Overall I think eventually we may be harder to gameplan for because you really don't know who will be featured on a given play.

I completely agree but you can't understate Braxton's ability to run around the defense. That's something that can't really be prepared for.
