Haha, I was born in 1980, and already lost my hair. Can I get some of what you've been puffin'? It's gotta be good, right? Just playin'...

It's great to see Joe's commitment come to fruition, it's really going to throw an entirely new dimension at our possibilities. Something to keep an eye on, for sure.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread, other than quote the second post here, by Alan ... from March of 2004. :paranoid:

Isn't Pryor in this class? We take 2!
So, you think we'll end up with six scholarship QBs on roster? Yeah, Bauserman may not technically be on scholarship right now, but it's just a matter of time...keep in mind he was offered a schollie and he did verbal to us. Should be indeed take two QBs this class, here's how we'll look going into the 2008 season:

Boeckman (greyshirt senior)
Schoenhoft (redshirt junior)
Henton (redshirt sophomore)
Bauserman (either redshirt freshman or sophomore)
2008 QB #1 (true freshman)
2008 QB #2 (true freshman)

No way do we have six QBs on roster...

How often does this happen with baseball players returning to play college football? I know Chris Weinke did it, and he won the Heisman. It's wishful thinking that the same will happen with Bauserman. Does this sort of thing happen often, and we just don't hear about it because they're typically flops in college?

seems to happen occasionally. a couple examples off the top of my head are quincy carter (georgia) and quan cosby (texas). i wouldn't say that they're typically flops. you probably don't hear about it much because not many of them have become stars. if a guy goes that route and becomes an average player you're probably not going to hear much about it unless he's at your school.

Mili, I think schwab was counting Bauserman in this class. We would take Bauserman as our 1st qb and Pryor as our 2nd. I don't think he was saying get Bauserman and then two more qb's this year.

Bauserman can't be a member of "this" (2008) class...he's a delayed member of the 2007 class (originally 2004 class). Bauserman is already enrolled, so how could he be a member of the 2008 recruiting class?

I think the kid was confused because of the timing Bauserman will be comming in at.

Regardless of who is footing the bill, Joe is going to be a factor at QB, and in my mind should be considered a scholarship QB just as if he committed to us last year or Jan of this year and then signed his LOI. In my mind, he is a member of the 2007 recruiting class who just doesn't happen do count against our limit of 85 yet...
