It won't be funny. It will be angry. The only thing keeping me from snapping right now, besides taking my anger out on your profile, is the fact I'm listening to old Christmas music. I'm trying to stay busy by making an online playlist for my mom. She loves the old classics, and she LOVES Christmas and Christmas music. But I'm drawing blanks now. I have like ten songs. This isn't good.

Staying busy is the hardest part. Even 3 plus weeks later the hardest is just smoking to DO SOMETHING sometimes. I am thinking of taking up kniting so my hands have something to do. I have started eating sunflower seeds almost 24/7 but I know ultimately thats horrible for my teeth. I just don't care right now. I have a friend that gets pissed whenever she tries to quit. She burns things in her grill. Seems to help her. Poking at fire and stuff. Punting random cats might work too.

I should try to sleep...but I know I won't be able to. Smoke free and sober is no way to go through life.

I agree. But I can help my liver, I cant help my lungs. Go out, buy some melatonin. It's at any grocery store. Sleep through the first few days of physical need, the emotional need gets easier.

Is this the new drunk thread? Good luck with you endeavor, BUCKYLE. Quitting smoking is a bitch (not that I would know). Try taking a long walk every time you start jonesing. The hardest part is those times when you automatically reach for a cig. Find something to occupy your hands. Maybe build a cigar-box guitar?

If I do make one, I'll post it on here.

There's a better chance of me walking to New Mexico to slap Taos around....hmm....

This song has been helping me. Maybe that whole "music soothes the savage beast" has somethin' to it.

I wish I could play the piano.

Fuck yeah! That song is the shit. Not to be a dick (well, maybe a little), here's the original.

My brother (not blood) has the album on vinyl. So many times when we were wasted, he would put it on, and it was awesome.

24hrs. Didn't wake up coughing as bad as I have been recently. Hell, that's enough to make me want to quit right there.

Congratulations on your first 24 hours! I can send you some tea to help you clear your lungs faster. Tastes like shit but with enough honey or some whiskey it's ok. The stuff it helps you cough up should be more than enough to keep you strong.

I figured I would've been coughing at least a little bit, but not really at all. I smoked menthols for the last ten years, and reds/basics before that. About eight packs a week since I turned 18.

So a pack a day of little crystals and rough tobacco. Yeah, you will be coughing up some good stuff. I found it didn't start right away, it was about a week in that I really brought up gobs of crap. I have to buy herbs for a sleep tea for a friend of mine, I will pick up the "smoker's tea" for you. Helps make those coughs more productive. Gross as hell but really helps in the long run.

Mmmm...little crystals.

Per Ryn's advice, I've been chewing on straws. I've eaten two today.
