So - anyone have a pdf of the DickWad contract? Is there a clause that lets scUM fire him now if their internal investigation finds out that he broke rules and brought them major infractions?

It seems to me that they would be well served to cut and run now. They save a boat load of money, and no matter what bad things happen the next several years, they have the villain ID'd. Blame it all on Fraudriguez and try to work your way back up with somebody with ties to the program. And if they launch him now, then they can tell the NCAA that they took swift corrective action.

It's really not that big of a deal, nothings going to happen (except for the emotional effect it might cause some players and personnel).

PS, go ahead, eat me alive for saying it's not that big of a deal

It may not be that big of a deal...

...neither is having a yard of toilet tissue stuck to the bottom of your shoe, but if you're dragging it around in public you still look like a fool.

My brother agrees.

Nah. A looming NCAA investigation of seemingly confirmed Major Infractions, and the continued negative press trashing your program by the media on a blood trail, and the perception to potential recruits that they will be treated as slaves that never have time for fun or a personal life/study time if they commit to scUM are not a big deal.

I don't know the names of the guys who went to the press with these allegations. We did have some practices during the season last year that were from 10 am to 10 pm with breaks in between but I didn't think they were that bad. I know of some who complained but its all speculation as to who went to the papers. I just know I'll be doing my part to keep us focused on Sept. 5th and take care of what we need to do.

I posted this a little while back, and I just found an article in 2005 by USA Today. This is not exactly the article that I'm talking about. There was another one, but here it is aniway.
ATHENS, Ga. ? It's 8:22 a.m., and University of Georgia junior wide receiver Mario Raley already is bathed in sweat. He has just completed an 80-minute workout, including 22 minutes of running in the steamy morning heat.

Although the NCAA's rules say summer strength and conditioning programs are voluntary, he raises an eyebrow when he hears the word voluntary.

certainly logical. however, if you fire dickrod who do you name as the head coach? i can't imagine any self respecting coach abandoning their team the first week of a new season. so i have to think anyone you would want wouldn't be available and anyone available wouldn't be qualified/desireable.

It seems to me that what is important is that players leaving are remaining in contact with players who stayed. If players confirmed the abuse of rules, they were either ignorant or they are starting to turn on their coach. I read discontent between the lines, but maybe I am wrong.

This story is a big deal only if the season does not meet the expectations for dramatic improvement over last year. A loss to Mickey Mouse U, a blowout loss against Notre Dame--lack of success will bring this story and player resentment back with a vengeance.

On the other hand, if TSUN beats Notre Dame and looks decent in the OOC games, then this just goes away in my opinion. TSUN would be pleased with a four-loss season, they'd probably see a five-loss season as a step forward.

When they lose and how they lose will determine the legs this story has, in my opinion.
