Seattle WR Mike Williams (official thread)

USCemper said:
Regardless of what BP posters may think of USC, Mike Williams ALLEGED re-instatement is big football news.

All methomps did was to list a site with the news, without even mentioning his personal opinions. What's the big deal?

I agree it is big news if it is true. I'm not questioning the how important Mike Williams reinstatement would be, I'm just questioning the truth of the post.
If true, then I'm sure the SC fans are going to be overjoyed. :oh: :io:

Mili: It is very possible, but the few times that marinetrojan has posted on the WeAreSc board, things have transpired exactly the way he had predicted them, to the point that many believe he is Mike Williams.

Nobody was coming down on him though, except the guy who left negative rep for some reason. You're right, it is big football news, and I for one think that bigger non-Buckeye stories do have a place here. (Not to mention the fact that the Mike Williams story is a result of the actions of a former Buckeye.)

Not saying it's a big deal but rather pointing out the fact that the only thing to surface about this is a post on a USC fan board while nothing is in the news. Maybe marinetrojan has some inside info, but until I see/hear something on the news, I ain't biting...

jlb, mili and others: My "what's the big deal" comment was addressed at the anonymous rep dinger and not to your observations. I should have been clearer about that.

Incidentally, I have yet to comment on any football related matters on this board, other than one post on this very subject for which I was called a "pussy" by an anonymous rep dinger.

mili: Yep, you are right, but if you noticed my earlier post I did say ALLEGED re-instatement. I won't believe it either until I hear it from the NCAA.

Grad21: nice touch on the USC board, as always.

Anyway, if this Williams doesn't return, I guess we'll have to send Petey to NJ for the Derrick variety

USC wide receiver Mike Williams told ESPN The Magazine's Bruce Feldman Thursday that the NCAA has refused his request for reinstatement.

When asked about his initial reaction to the rejection, Williams first said he is thankful to have a resolution. He added he felt bad for all the people who went through the long and complicated reinstatement process and for the people who supported him, including USC coach Pete Carroll.

Williams, who said he will work out with USC strength coach Chris Carlisle while attending classes for the next four months, will be eligible for the 2005 draft. He will be them minimum three years removed from high school.

The USC team was en route Thursday to the East Coast for Saturday night's game against Virginia Tech.
