SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

I'm not sure exactly where this thread got sidetracked but some of you really should stick to talking about football and leave the attempts to talk business and politics out of it. Besides, we have a forum for that purpose and this isn't it.

College its Stanford or nothing.

NFL i see Carolina or SF.

I think it's even narrower: Stanford or San Francisco. He wouldn't have to relocate his younger children, he grew up in the area, and the roster has talent. They need to resolve the QB situation, and he'll have options in the draft along with someone near and dear to our hearts.

What in Dave Brandon's "extensive" athletic leadership experience leads you to believe he has any clue what he is doing?

Well, sadly, he's not this guy:

I disagree. Harbaugh being unavailable doesn't change the fact that Rodriguez had to go. And I don't think anyone Michigan might want is unavailable now who would have been available 3 weeks ago.

Now, if Brandon hires Hoke, I would probably say he's botched the process.

The only reason to wait this long to fire Rich Rod is to wait until Stanford finished their bowl and hire him. I know there is the cheaper buy out on January 1....but my understanding is that he could have been notified 30 days prior to January 1 that his employement would end on 1/1 and continue paying him his salary until that date at which point the formally sever ties. Give him the option to coach in the bowl game if he wants. Instead, they hold out a month, lose out on several high profile recruits, and don't get their guy.

Sounds like a botch to me. They could have hired Hoke a month ago.

Harbaugh is too smart to take the scUM job. That offense is nothing like he runs so the players wouldn't fit at all and the defense is in shambles. Loyalty is one thing, career suicide is another.

Take the Niners job and he gets a shot to beat up his ol' pal Petey twice a year.

It always seemed like he was the Niners to have....unless they fuck this up. I would love for him to give TS a full year of tutelage and not just run out and try and trade up for Luck. If TS can't then be a solid NFL starter, he'll at least of had an honest chance.

Part of me believes all the pizza guy talk about him believing hairball goes to the NFL is just a smokescreen and he'll still end up in ann arbor...but a bigger part of me has total faith in m*ch*g*n's ability to fuck things up.

Harbaugh's asking price: North of $6 million

Tony Sparano's fate may rest on the decision of a certain Stanford head coach. According to sources, the Dolphins have put a decision on the coaching staff in a holding pattern while the team's executives conduct exploratory talks with Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. While no offer has been made, the Dolphins may have to move quickly, given the stiff competition for Harbaugh's services. The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos also have head coach openings and are in play. Harbaugh's camp is reportedly demanding a salary north of $6 million a season.

Well there is 6,000,000 reasons why he won't be scUMs new coach.

Something tells me this dude is a nut job....I don't think he will be the right fit as an NFL coach. College.... well the job he has done at Stanford speaks for itself.

hard to believe if Bobby Hoying(I know he isn't a coach)had the same opportunity he would blow off the Scarlet and Grey! This whole story about not taking the Meat-Chicken job is odd. Honestly, I'm glad because I think he would be a nightmare up there but for now this fiasco is just another major bad dream for them.
