Summer 2010 Free Agency

wish the "A-List" free agents would sign with teams, but everyone is waiting on what LeBron will do. Bosh, D-wade, and Joe Johnson all saying they'll decide in a few days..translation: where's LeBron gonna be??

No way Joe Johnson turns down a max deal in Atlanta. That's probably 50 mil more than a player of his talent should get.

Joe is willing to split the pot in New York with 2 other super-stars b/c they're offering additional ways to make income...such as stock in Madison Square Garden. If LeBron were willing to accept less money to go to New York, Joe Johsnon would as well. I don't see that happening either, but Johnson will wait before signing his deal with the Hawks.

Does anyone else think that Wade and Lebron wouldn't be good long term teammates? It works great for Team USA for a couple weeks every 4 years, but in the NBA playoffs who gets the ball at the end of the game? Both are going to want the ball and if they went to Chicago (which is the only way I see them on the same team) Rose is going to want the ball as well. I think Lebron would be better off with a good big or PG that can distribute rather than another player that does pretty much the same thing that he does. For as promising as the Bulls lineup is they don't have a shooter, which is what Lebron needs. He and Wade have their moments, but they aren't knock down shooters for each other.
The more I think about it the more I think Lebron is coming back. The Bulls seem to be spending a bunch of time with Wade, but I think their best play would be to add Bosh and then go after Wade or Lebron. Rose, Wade, Deng, Bosh, and Bizzaro Andy would be a killer lineup.
The Knicks need to sit on their money and go after Melo next year or in a trade. I would also hold onto Lee since he is their only decent player.
Joe Johnson will resign with the Hawks since the Knick's won't be able to pull off their 3 player signing. All of the other players outside of the top 3 that have max offers to stay at home will take them since they probably would be turning down 50 mil in guaranteed money.
I just really hope the Cavs pitch yesterday had a blueprint for what the Cavs to can do to add the piece or 2 that they need to put them over the top. I still whole heartedly believe that they had the talent to win it all this past season with a better coach on the bench. If Lebron thinks Scott is that coach the Cavs are in good shape. The Cavs need to find someone that can defend Howard since Shaq will be gone and it wouldn't hurt to find another solution at the guards. My only requirement is that JJ is in the starting lineup next season.

i don't know how effective wade or lebron would be in chicago. Rose is almost totally ineffective without the ball in his hands. both wade and lebron need the ball in their hands, period. and chicago has absolutely no jumpshooters of any kind. honestly, chicago getting bosh, and a center that can actally rebound and be a man in the paint would make them legit contenders.

um actually rebound? Noah was 7th in the league with 11 boards per game...

I think Noah is the key for Chicago. Rose is a nice player, but he can't play off the ball. In the East though, Orlando isn't going anywhere and you need someone that can guard DHo on the block and the pick and roll. Noah is that guy.

Varajao can be that guy as well, but he doesn't do anything as well as Noah.

:slappy:

i go to cbs sports and this is on the front page

The first domino in the Knicks' free-agency plans has fallen. Ken Berger says Amar'e Stoudemire and the Knicks have agreed on a five-year, $99.8 million deal, a move that might lure another star free agent

oh boy you got Amar'e

still arent getting LeBron Wade or Bosh

and still wont be anywhere near the NBA finals

I hate fucking New York sports

A pretty well tuned in person (those with scout $ access know him well) say that LeBron is staying in Cleveland. He also says moves are being made to bring in another superstar via a sign and trade. It's all but done, he's just waiting for the launch of lebronjames.com as that is the platform the announcement will be made. Pretentious? Yes. But, apparently the "home" and "loyalty" pitches worked. Obviously, this is one mans word, but he has "bonafides" and has been unwavering on that stance the whole time.
