The Paul Finebaum Show (Official Thread)

Hurts had 2000 yards passing. Think about that. If you are a good defense against the run (spoiler alert: osu is good against the run) and force him to throw, they are in big trouble. That's the main reason why I see Clemson having a high percentage chance of winning. not rolling them because I believe in bamas defense (not more than past years, but still pretty good this year), but Clemson's DL is elite and will force Bama to throw more than they want to.

You're so triggered you're embarrassing youself. 45. Win vs #4. Not getting owned in your last game of the year. You can let go of the Iowa margin. We're not talking resumes here, we're talking who would win a game tomorrow. Bama can't pass, they can only run. OSU has a suspect pass defense, great rush defense. Besides 31 and a 3 pt Vegas spread, you haven't really given an actual reason.

All 3 applicants had trash resumes. The fact that osu wasn't worthy does nothing to change that reality for the other two.

And you keep pretending Alabama's been a juggernaut this year and that they are not the exact style of opponent that Wisconsin craves. It's really credible.

A lot of people are pretending a helluva lot more than I am. They're pretending getting our doors blown off 31-0 after bring given the benefit of the doubt last year had no bearing on this year. They're pretending a team that lost 2 games by a combined score of 86-40 deserves a shot at the NC, despite the fact that no team has ever been in position to win a national championship at this level (mythical, BCS, playoff, or otherwise) with such a resume'.

If any other fan base was crying about being left out with those 2 losses we'd be laughing our asses off at them.

If Alabama wins title, are we still better?
If OSU looks bad/just ok vs USC of course not. If they look very good then arguably yes. Hell, one could make an argument that tcu was better than OSU in 2014. We'll never know obviously, but the difference is that OSU didn't get in over tcu with tcu having a better resume, but OSU was "unequivocally better." OSU got in because their resumes were similar but OSU was deemed better with equal resumes. The case in 2017 was unequivocally better, not equal resumes.

Good JT could crush them. Or they could break JT and subject themselves to another Cardale.

JT was a few plays away from destroying UW by about 30. The juxtoposition that is Barrett makes anyone nervous, but this isn't a typical bama team. This is a team plagued by many of the same flaws as osu without as much upside in terms of better offensive outings.

You have nailed why the Buckeyes have been so inconsistent. Teams emulate their leaders.

Bama was -6, not -3 over the Buckeyes, at the Westgate where the lines originate.

I do. I would argue that your love for OSU has poisoned you to the point of not allowing yourself to get past the Iowa game and realize just how strongly they finished the season, and on the flip side how conditioned you've been into thinking every year Alabama is the greatest team ever. Many years that's actually true. The last month of the season, Bama wasn't that great.

Barrett played like utter trash most of his time in The Game, and played like trash against Wisconsin. Neither of those games should have been close. Barrett wasn't the reason that the Buckeyes destroyed Sparty either. The running backs combined for 286 yards rushing in that game.
