Ty Isaac (official thread)

The real hardship is that they didn't put his family in the same house Reggie Bush's stayed in so his mom didn't have to worry about flying. I guess you gotta get a little higher on the depth chart before they'll do that though.

Come to think of it, M*ch*g*n is starting to make more and more sense. How many houses can you buy in Detroit with the money that would have been spent on one round-trip plane ticket to California? I'm sure they'll find a place that'll cut down on the commute from Joliet.

This is probably the last year immediate eligibility will be possible. NCAA is looking at a change in the rules. It would eliminate immediate eligibility but would ensure that no athlete would lose a year of eligibility even if it required six years to play four.

It'd be hard to believe that they would grant it, considering it implies the need to be close to home, when the school you choose is 250 miles away, and a 4 hour drive. But hey, it is the NCAA, so who knows.

Video mashup of every touch Ty had at USC in 2013.

This gives Michigan a third big back in the 2013 class (though he likely redshirts without further eligibility shenanigans at UM). I see a faster, similarly stiff hipped big back who is going to struggle if Michigan does not make big strides upfront (true for many backs). This is not a guy like Beanie, Clarett or Hyde that has the ability to invent yardage in a phone booth.

Unlike Derrick Green, I can see why recruiting sites ranked Isaac highly and the talent is there to be a good one. I just wonder whether he will realize that for Michigan and who the coaches will be when he does.

In all seriousness actual phone boots went away long before pay phones.
