What golf clubs do you use?

I use Ping Eye 2 irons, from the mid 1980s I think. They're still in great shape and work perfectly.

I'm looking at buying a new driver, though. I'm going to get a Cleveland HiBORE XLS driver in a week or two.

I had a Hibore Drive - the original version. Best club I have ever owned, regardless of type. I'm probably going to get the Hibore XLS or Monster which are 2 or 3 versions ahead of my old one. I'm hoping for similar results.

I just hit some x-18's, r7's, adams and big berthas and adams a3os. I might buy the wide soled irons which I am hoping will help me get the ball up in the air a bit more. On the launch computer my 6 iron was launching at a 5 iron angle, the Adams A3OS seemed to help more than any others...and they have hybrids for 3,4,5.... who knows yet....

Here is something to think about concerning golf clubs....

If you buy clubs after January 1, 2010 they must conform to new groove standards in order to post scores for handicap purposes (which means all new clubs will not use square grooves). Yet you can play up until 2024 with clubs made before January 1, 2010 in amateur competition (for professional competition you must use the new grooves). So in other words, all irons made before January 1, 2010 will be superior to newer clubs (unless of course some manufacturers ignore those rules, but most reputable ones will not...just like the MOI rules with drivers).

In short, this is a great year to get a new set of irons because they will have superior spin to new ones for years.

edit: see newer post for current clubs.

Nice post Scott91, did not know that. I have Ping I-3's, 5 degrees upright, inch and a half over, with four wraps over a half cord grip. Have an R-7 driver (240cm, not the big boy), as the aspect is best for me. Mixture of other woods and rescue clubs, and my putter (of the moment) is a white-face Oddysey "Rossie". I tend to give my putters and my wedges 'time-outs' on more than one occassions.

However, all of my woods and putters have an Ohio State Buckeye head cover adorning it. As well as the Buckeye ballmark and hat I wear. When I put on my Buckeye shirt, my foursome calls it the 'full Buckeye'.

I have generos.

Square Two Powercircle XL's that I got off the rack for Christmas about 10 years ago.

Looking at some Mizuno MP 57's but just can't justify spending that much money for them.

I have a 12 year old set of Ping ISI's. Grooves are wearing down, but still in good shape.

My golf buddy uses the Ben Hogan Apex blades. Great clubs, expensive, but they will last a long time.

It is hard to go wrong with Tommy Armour 845s as well.
