how the hell can you recruit and build your team if you are going to be in the NFL until the last round of the AFC playoffs?
Yeah, thats what I was thinking.
He wont be done till what, a week or two at most before signing day?
Oh well, I have no problem with another mediocre ND recruiting class......

He can because he is the next greatest college football coach. And he has 3 SB rings, none of which he was HC for, but that doesn't matter because they are shiny. All he has to do is say "Notre Dame" and flash his shiny rings and voila! national championships every other year or so with the recruits he will get. :wink2:

YEP! Show a WR prospect (or any postion on offense) some film of his wide recievers in the SB and yeah that would make most high school kids listen to what he has to say...

You mean like Vrabel?

What happens when he gets to the part about winning records, bowl games, and academic requirements?

None of this matters because the Domers have the chosen one to flash his shiny rings at recruits. Never mind that the WR's he had in the pro's received their polishing as a receiver at some college at the hands of a WR coach in the collegiate ranks, just look at those shiny rings.

yeah, the thing about the SB Patriots that won them so many games was their star WRs. Do you even watch NFL?

and what part of the SB Patriots cant you understand?

first of all, you singled out the WR as if that was his strong point. second, the Patriots are the 2002 Buckeyes of the NFL. they didnt win with offense.

nice post though. :roll1:

Here's some things to wow recruits with

ND's last Bowl victory: 1993 Cotton Bowl vs T A&M to put this in perspective, a young Domer that started the 1st grade in 1993 would now be a SR in high school.

ND's season by season record over the past decade:

'95: 9-3
'96: 8-3
'97: 7-6
'98: 9-3
'99: 5-7
'00: 9-3
'01: 5-6
'02: 10-3
'03: 5-7
'04: 6-5 with Bowl game pending

ND's overall record since Holtz left: 56-39 (.589) with 0 Bowl wins in 4 appearences.

Number of HC's in the 8 years after Holtz: 4

Yeah, I think with ZERO head coaching experience can just step in and clean that mess up in no time. Getting a big fat goose egg for his first recruiting class will sure make the first 5 years a lot easier.

Is Stewart Still Interested in Notre Dame?
By Mike Frank
Date: Dec 14, 2004

Olympia, Wash. running back Jonathan Stewart is ranked as the No. 1 running back in the nation by Scout.com. The 5-10, 218-pound Stewart had been interested in Notre Dame prior to the coaching change at Notre Dame. We spoke with Stewart on Monday night to get his reaction to the naming of Charlie Weis as Notre Dame's new coach.

Five-star running back Jonathan Stewart told us on Monday night that the Irish are no longer on his list.

"Right now I'm down to USC, Oregon, Washington State and Tennessee," said Stewart.

The Irish are still trying to get back in the mix.

"They tried to call me tonight," said Stewart of Notre Dame. "I didn't talk to (Weis) tonight, but they tried to call."

Do the Irish have a shot?

"They are completely out of it," said Stewart.

Does he have any interest in speaking to Weis?

"I have no interest," he said.

Comments: It looks as if the Irish will have to move on from Stewart when looking to sign some running backs. However, we don't think Weis will give up that easily for this top prospect.

Just show him the SB film, :slappy:
