Let's see.

Done: Front page reworked allowing for new 'skins'. Navbar reworked. Microstats added to footer. bpQuiz added and populated. 'Great Post' functionality converted and restored. Attachment policies reworked - thumbnails generated.

Working on: topX stats on forumhome, display reps given in UserCP, welcome PM for new users. Avatar rules.

Need to get to: Spellcheck, usenet gateway, site images (add new ones that are missing, greyscale old ones that 3yards asked for over a year ago :P), move mastheads to local box. Remove rep power from postbit, and age, wtf is that doing there? Hey, backup the dbase at some point.

Problems: Arcade (as expected), articles (as expected, but worse), bpCash (unexpected), can't sleep - clown will eat me. Medals system (convert? replace and migrate old data?)

Hmm, I'll have to look into that lvb, no reason it shouldn't work for you. I want everyone to enjoy the sweet goodness of AJAX.

I'm using Afternoon at the moment as well. Although I'm tempted to switch it up now and then.

Thanks all. New server made all this possible. Everyone who contributes to the site day in and day out (in any form) made that possible. It's all good, collectively we've got something pretty special here, and I enjoy doing my bit. Everyone who visits BP should be proud of what we've accomplished. I don't mind saying that there were some who thought a community-driven site would fail. But then that's what they'd have to think when their interests are in the commercial side. Happily, what we've all learned is that there's room for both, and they can coexist -- even compliment one another. I like to think that the O-Zone, BP, VG, Buckeye Commentary, BNuts and BSB all bring something worthwhile to the community. Now we have CoachTressel.com too, good time to be a Buckeye fan, great time to be a BPer. Stats engine is still going to blow everyone away, just has to wrap up. The scale of that project -- well, lol, one thing at a time, and I'm off on a tangent.

UserCP Rep Given done. WelcomePMs, images underway. Usenet next. Problems are still problems, and I'm going to call it a night soon.

Hey, as you all play with everything today, if you run into issues, please post them in this thread. It will be my first stop when I come back later today.

Okay, for whatever reason, your browser (and this may well happen to others, so I hope people read this thread -- those of you who do, please spread the info to those who don't) ... where was I? Oh yeah, your browser is ignoring the no_cache headers, which means you have old javascript and data local to your computer, that is no longer valid or compatible with what we're running here.

You need to clear your local cache. Not cookies or anything like that, just the cache itself. That *should* fix the problem for you.

If it doesn't, I've got some digging to do, because I just posted in there without a problem.

Cool, glad to hear it. I suspect there was just a delay in updating your cache. So perhaps just reloading a page fresh and trying what you were doing again is enough to resolve these issues as people run into them. If not, clearing out your cache is benign, quick, and not a bad thing to do now and then anyway.

I couldn't switch skins until I went into my UserCP and manually changed the option. Now that it isn't "page default", I can switch the skin from within the thread.

(I am using Mozilla to view).

Just in case anyone else reads this and is having the same problem.

EDIT:

Did we lose our medals?

-the new edit feature is nice, too.

I think that's another cache issue. I didn't have that problem on this laptop, but did on the other one with a testing account. Clearing the cache (or manually forcing an update the way you guys did) seems to do the trick.

Time will too. I expected some of these issues because of the total rewrite in how things work, particularly those little jscripts.
