OSU latched on to another top-100 national recruit by getting a verbal commitment Thursday night from senior receiver Lamaar Thomas of Fort Washington (Md.) High School.
The 5-foot-11, 181-pound Thomas, who runs the 100-meter dash in 10.4 seconds, is the top-rated player in Maryland and ranked 32nd overall by Rivals.com. He turned down offers from Illinois, Maryland and Tennessee.

Huge pickup for OSU and I got really excited over this one. First time we have had some suspense for a recruit  Welcome aboard Lamar! Btw, ESPN has him as the #18 RB in the country...those chumps.

Dude I Loved it when Lamaar said, "The University of.................Ohio State". It was down to : The University of Maryland, The University of Illinois and The Ohio State University.

Lamaar rode the suspense till the end that was great!.

I hope this is the catalyst for the end of season football committment to Ohio State reaction.

Lamaar looked to be somewhat nervous during his committment but he said all the right words and I agree he looks great in Scarlet and Grey.

Welcome Aboard Bro!

What gets me excited is that this was obviously a major priority recruit for the OSU staff. All of us can watch film and say we're impressed, but I think a bigger statement is made when OSU with all its recreuiting resources wades through the weeds and says "I want THIS player, and I want him desparately."

This usually means good things are ahead.

Good point, we're really starting to beef up the 08 class, Especially if we get Pryor.
