http://www.ada-ware.com/ is an excellent spyware removal program. i highly recommend it.

http://www.panicware.com/ has a decent pop-up blocker. i prefer the one from Norton Internet Security, but that isn't free, while this one is. sometimes it blocks ones it shouldn't, but it's worth the hassle.

The best Musberger line was after JT was whining to the refs after Iowa scored on the fake field goal,

"Coach, this ain't Tempe..."

classic.

Now you know why folks still refuse to believe you're an Ohio State fan. There were two ****ing blatant holds on the play. Tressel's complaining was nowhere near the vein-busters that Carr displays all the time. You say that was "classic"...I say that you're "ass sick".

BuckNutty: "This is the time of year I really regret not taping any games. Too bad Mili won't take me up on the Gamble bet, then I wouldn't have this problem next winter"

And what bet would that be? I still say he won't go in the first round.

Ashland.....just so we are clear.....i cant tell if your post is serious or not....but i started the "ice cream" thread as a joke concerning all of the ridiculous threads on bnuts.....needless to say, i was surprised that it lasted as long as it did......

I understand your evaluation of Gamble Mil, but I have to agree with others on this one big dog. Gamble will be a late first round pick. If Derek Ross can go early, Chris Gamble sure as hell can go higher than him. Just to prevent the onslaught of "Ross had more picks" argument.......Good corners normally do not have that many picks because they are not thrown at too often. Just refer to Shawn Springs.

Draft status aside, Ross isn't even close to the player that Gamble is. Never was, and never will be, too.

Gamble's faster, a better athlete, and a much more instinctive football player than Ross is and was. Gamble's also a pretty good tackler for a guy who's only been playing Defense for a year and a half. The great ones make plays that the average players don't even see, and Gamble is one of the players who makes those plays. Pull out any tape in the latter half of the '02 season and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ross is a good talent who had his head in the stars for a lot of plays his Junior year, and is a bit of a head case. He's not in Gamble's league.

Agreed. Gamble has a much more promising career than Ross. CG got through a year and a half on almost pure athleticism alone... once he has some coaching from the big boys in the NFL he'll become much, much better.

I agree with what you guys are saying, but on each of their respective draft days, Ross had the stat's to put Gamble's to shame. He had experience and 4 years as a starter on one of the best defenses in the NCAA. I'm not trying to knock Gamble, but he is going to be drafted on nothing more than potential. This happens in the draft, but Ross had proven himself for four years, while Gamble had a banner half-year in 2002, and statistically had a very poor year in 2003. His athleticism and God-given talent ensure that he'll be a draft pick, as anyone can see his potential, but he is coming out in a strong CB year, and Ross came out in a weak year for safeties.

Dihard

You actually were being sarcastic with your "ice cream" thread?
Ok, then I won't hold it against you (not that you'd care)
I don't know how many people ended up responding to it but there sure seemed to be a lot of posters that took it rather seriously.

If I wasn't as new to the board as I am, maybe I would've known you well enough to realize you were just having some fun. My apologies.
Maybe I'm just losing my sense of humor!

FKA, I don't know where you're getting some of this stuff from, but lets tackle each one:

"on each of their respective draft days, Ross had the stat's to put Gamble's to shame"

First of all, who cares about stats on draft day, and what stats are you referring to? Interceptions? Tackles? If a DB has high totals on both, it most likely means that a.) teams are throwing at him because he's poor in coverage, and/or b.) teams are running at him because he's a poor run stopper. A great example of this is Shawn Springs, who won Big Ten Defensive POY and 3rd Overall Pick in the NFL Draft without a single INT during his Junior year. So, they're decieving stats for the position, and not a single NFL scout cares about a player's College stats. All they care about is potential. Case in point: Kliff Kingsbury & the Current Texas Tech QB (forget his name) have put up monster stats the last two years that've eclipsed every other QB in the country - but on Draft day, you won't hear their names before the likes of Manning, Rothlisberger, or Rivers.

"I'm not trying to knock Gamble, but he is going to be drafted on nothing more than potential."

True, Gamble, like everybody, will get drafted on potential, but when you say 'nothing more,' now that's ridiculous. Gamble was an impact player in college, who led his team to the National Title as an All-American and (IMO) the best player in the country in 2002. You're making it seem like he's a great athlete with an undistinguished college career. That is far from the truth. Gamble is one of the greatest Buckeyes to ever lace em up, and will be remembered as such. Think about how many '02 Buckeye highlights included # 7 in them.

"Ross had proven himself for four years"

This is incorrect. Ross was an early entry in the NFL Draft, and (if I recall correctly) missed an entire season due to academic issues. Either way, the most Ross played here was three seasons, and in '98 as a true freshman he was strictly a Special Teamer.

"statistically had a very poor year in 2003"

Again, how are you judging this? Please post some criteria with your argument.

"Ross came out in a weak year for safeties"

Ross and Gamble are Cornerbacks, not safeties.
