'08 OH TE/DE Kevin Koger (Michigan signee)

True, but that did not happen after either camp... so it's somewhat of a wash.
Agree....I don't see it as a negative, I was just hoping his experience at camp would be enough for him to make a move publicly.

Certainly it could still have had a huge impact on him and even cemented his decision...and he just isn't going public with it yet.

I'll chalk this up as no new news..and that isn't a bad thing.

He is high on my wish list for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the OSU-UM battle aspect of his decision.

Like you said...we don't know exactly how the two camps impacted Koger publicly...but privately he seemed to really enjoy the OSU camp while UM's insiders were less than excited by Kevin's comments as he left UM's camp. They were looking for a lot more enthusiasm from a kid who they thought was supposedly a slam dunk for UM up until Moore committed.

I kinda think he is UM bound. As I have said, I go to school with him. I haven't seen him without a Michigan key chain around his neck.
If we do get him, we are getting a vocal leader(I have seen this first hand a few years back) and a Very fast tight end.

Wow...basing where he is headed off a key chain. If we are using that logic then I am putting down Pryor as an OSU verbal right now...

The bottom line from those that know is that OSU has had an uphill battle against UM for Kevin's services since the beginning but has made up enough ground and has enough momentum to the point that this thing is neck and neck. If he has known where he is going all along, why not commit when he was at UM and why the lukewarm response after UM's camp? I'll tell you why...because the Moore commitment shook things up and now Kevin is SERIOUSLY considering OSU. Will he ends up at UM? Possibly. Could he end up at OSU? Possibly. We will know more in July...but the fact of the matter is that the staff rolled out the red carpet for both Kevin and his father at camp and they sure were saying a lot of pro-OSU things by the time they left.

I don't think that we can overlook the fact that he wears a michigan key chain daily. It might seem small, but I think that could be a sign. Alot of prospects know where they're going before they commit.

Andrew Sweat had Florida shorts on as he committed to Ohio State. Clothing is not a good indicator of future decisions.

If OSU offers to trade Florida shorts (which the kid already has) for a pair of OSU shorts (or keychains, hats, etc), that shouldn't constitute an NCAA infraction would it? After all, we're not making a 'gift' but making a fair exchange.......

No, that only means he's a soft verbal. Once he decks out his myspace in TSUN logos, then he's a commit.

He comes up to my store a lot and has that keychain around his neck, but I do not think that matters. I have heard from several sources close to the Whitmer team that they really think that he favors Ohio State a little more. I also understand that he has not heard much from Coach Carr, while Coach Tress calls him quite a bit. The one thing however he is concerned about is tOSU switching him to play DE. Seems like he wants to play TE. Take this with a grain of salt, but that is what I have heard from people close to him.

seems to me he has a lot better chance of playing TE at OSU as we have no other legit TE targets this year and UM seems to be the one talking DE to him more.
