2017 tOSU Offense Discussion

That film study article by 11W above is actually pretty good analysis of the offense Saturday and the RPO approach. Wonder if they keep expanding on the formations, plays and wrinkles but use it as the base of the offense going forward. Feels like it fits Barrett's skill set better than what we saw them try to do against Oklahoma.

I sure hope so. The beauty of RPOs is once you get it clicking, you can make the defense guess wrong nearly every time.

Great thing about RPO is there is no need to take a loss on any play and you can stay ahead on the chains. Also obviously the beauty of RPO is you take what the defense is giving you. It's nearly impossible to cover all your bases when someone does any kind of option work on you as a defense and that means one of our options is most likely going to be wide open.

Also a underrated part of us going to a lot of option work with either RPO or zone read is it forced a defense to lessen their aggressiveness and think. If we can slow down a defense even just a shade to think that's all the time our guys should need to make a play.

Agreed. It certainly looked like a typical JT pass that was off the mark. I guess I could copy and paste the NevadaBuck quote but I hear that's frowned upon here. I guess just take it for what it's worth.

That's exactly the point that I'm making, right? "...looked like a typical JT pass that was off the mark." I wonder how many are off the mark (I guess we know all of them that go over someone's hands or in the dirt are off the mark), but how many of the timing issues leading / lagging are him or the route that was run?

What I do know is that when I saw Baugh reach back I knew that the pass would be a point of discussion here.

Just like a tootsie-pop... the world may never know.

Live Updates from the Urban Meyer Call-In Show — Sept. 21

+ Demario McCall is close, but he had a little flare up yesterday in practice, which is frustrating for McCall and the coaches.

+ Mike Weber is getting better and better. His injury happened right before camp opened, so he has yet to be 100%.

Entire article: http://theozone.net/2017/09/live-updates-urban-meyers-call-show-sept-21/

These 2 guys just need to get healthy.
