Just thought I would post this cause it was actually surprising to hear something good come from his mouth about Ohio State. Also, I know a lot of you guys don't listen or watch ESPN, so I thought I would let you guys know maybe we are on the way back up in the national perception, even most of you don't care. I for one don't, but it is nice to hear some compliments from time to time.

Meh. I go through times where I listen to Cowherd. He's a goob, but he's one of very few shows that actually discusses college football. If Ohio State is winning, he talks Ohio State up. If they're losing, he doesn't. There really isn't anything more to it than that, because it's all for ratings. If Ohio State is winning, he has Ohio State fans listening. Same goes for any other team's fans.

cowherd's the guy who said michigan will rule the big ten in a few years after they beat notre dame

Not a bad statement on his part. If they win the Big Ten in a couple of years, he gets to say he's right. If they don't win the Big Ten in the next 5 years, no one will remember that he said it, and he won't get called out for it.

That's right, I am resurrecting this fossil of a thread after a year.

Today while cleaning up the house after the kid destroyed it, I happen to have ESPNU on and the Herd was on. I really don't care for this guy, I think he's actually a little creepy, I probably wouldn't let my son around him... Anyway, they were talking college football for a little bit and they had Tom Blacklidge on. They started on ND and how much of a disappointment they are and I had a few laughs. Then something from out of nowhere happened...He started talking Big Ten and the Buckeyes. They discussed how they thought Pryor, from the beginning of this season to now, has progressed so much and how much better they thought he was since Purdue. Tom brought up the point that The Buckeyes Defense is for real and has been getting it done all year, they just needed Pryor to catch up. Cowherd also said after watching him this weekend, Pryor looked like a NFL style QB and is looking very good. They ended the discussion saying The Bucks were the class of the Big Ten and could be for awhile while Pryor is here.

Putting himself out there, eh? We kick the living daylights out of Penn State and Iowa loses a game and a QB heading into Columbus against a quickly growing Ohio State team.

Hey, Colin! Thanks for the analysis,

Funny. Because on Friday, he was on live in Happy Valley. He predicted PSU to win and win big.

I don't mind Cowherd. I disagree with a lot of stuff he says, but as far as ESPN radio goes, he's about as entertaining as it gets. Every once in a while he'll go out on a limb and make a great point.

Other times he tries to hard.

I liked what he had to say today. It's been a while since I've heard someone unexpected give OSU good praise.

And SportsNation is one of those "this is so stupid and pointless that I'm going to watch" shows.

No he didn't. He picked PSU to win, but Ohio State to cover.

He said that they would win big, early in the show, but then immediately said, [paraphrase]What else am I gong to say? You guys are standing too close for me to say anything else[/paraphrase]

When he did his actual picks, later in the same show, he said that he liked good teams that were getting a lot of points, and that 4 points was too much to give.

I honestly really like Cowherd, I think he's pretty funny and just calls things as he sees them. He may be a little more abrupt and he's not willing to cowtow to fanbases. So I would see why a lot of homers froms fanbases wouldn't like him (like tOSU fans, people of Philadelphia and pretty much all small market MLB teams). He's there for entertainment and ratings, and he knows how to push buttons. He actualy loves Cbus, but what he's said about the Buckeyes at times has been correct to a certain extent. He's said the same things most of the people on this site have said, and voiced opinions that most of of the nation have of the Buckeyes. That we have an underachieving O-line, and a QB that hasn't matured like most have thought. He then went on his show after the PSU game and gave Pryor rave reviews about his performance. People are getting a little too touchy about his material because he does bash the Bucks a lot, but it's all in humor, if u don't like him, don't listen to him. His show is definitely not for everyone(its an aquired taste), but he's entitled to his opinions. But we all know that opinions are like a$$holes, everyone's got one.
