Krenzel ... Good, Bad or Ugly? (Long)

I have a "no posting while intoxicated policy", but if I do post something in that state of mind, I hope I will receive the same understanding that has been shown in this thread. No need to fight amongst ourselves when there's a whole state up north to throw barbs at. BTW, I also have a "no wolvereenie policy" on my fantasy football team. It helps the overall morale of my team.

As for CK being best ever; I agree with some of you that have stated "it depends on what your definition of best is." Since I'm not old enough to remember Kern, and barely remember Schlichter, I will let those who know better have that discussion. I will say I want Germaine until the last 5 minutes of the game, then send in Krenzel, not that Germaine was incapable of a comeback, but Krenzel made it look as easy as molecular genetics. (Maybe not the best analogy).

Krenzel and Autographs

I am not one to go to autograph shows, but today Craig Krenzel was at the Great Lakes Mall (close to where I live) signing autographs. I took my two boys (ages 7 and 9) so they could meet one of their Buckeye heroes and get his autograph. My oldest is a quarterback on his pee-wee football team, has been for 2 years, and obviously has been a huge Krenzel fan. The look on his face when he got to shake CK's hand, talk to him about playing QB, and how he selected #16 for his number, was well worth the money spent.

CK did not disappoint; he was extremely nice, took a little extra time to talk to my boys, and was more than cooperative for some photos as well. His demeanor, his accomplishments on the field, and his well-documented accomplishments off the field (in the classroom), served as a great juxtaposition when recalling the posts in a recent thread here about MoC.

I know this may not be "news" to many here about CK, but I just wanted to share this with other Buckeye fans.

Why is it necessary to bash Clarett in a post about Krenzel? Doesn't the post about Krenzel stand on its own? Don't be surprised when people talking about Clarett when you fan the flames.

I took my son to a couple of autograph sessions when he was younger and was disappointed in the behavior of the athletes (no interest in the kids whatsoever). Glad to hear a different story.

FWIW - bukiprof did not stand Clarett in contract to Krenzel - Clarett did that all by himself.

My point was that is it necessary to bring him up? Why do you have to bash Clarett to praise Krenzel? And why do you expect that people that don't have a vendetta against Clarett aren't going to say something about it? If you don't want endless Clarett debates, then quit bashing him.

Oh8ch and Tibs - Thanks. How my comment about comparing my experience this evening to posts in another thread gets twisted into me bashing MoC is beyond me. Nowhere in the original post did I bash MoC!

If I read that Krenzel is a great juxtaposition to MoC, what do you want me to conclude from this? That Krenzel is bad and MoC is good? How can this statement not be taken as a subtle or not so subtle dig at Clarett in a context that has nothing to do with Maurice Clarett? Why must Maurice Clarett be mentioned to praise Craig Krenzel? Your praise for Krenzel stands fine on its own merit.
