LaDainian Tomlinson (NFL HOF)

Isn't Tress 1-3 vs. Wiscy?

Oh god, don't reminds us of that statistic.
The first of his losses was by far the weirdest - losing 20-17 in the Shoe to a Wisconsin team that netted a 5-7 record overall, a week after a 5-6 Indiana team whipped Wisconsin 63-32 (!!).
The last loss in Madison was by far the worst - signaling an end to the unbeaten streak, and low-lighted by Reynolds actions.

I was at that game. What made it worse was I had to work the midshift the night before and didn't have a chance to get to bed before we had to go to the game.

It was miserable.....

Where Ladainian Tomlinson is a Great Player, He is not Jerry Rice, Whom in My Mind is the Greatest NFL Player who has ever played the game... I mean, you also have elite greats, such as Staubach, Montana, Emmitt Smith, Payton, Bettis, Starr, Bradshaw, Swann, I mean I could go on all day with Elite NFL names, but like I said, in my mind, nobody will ever pass Jerry Rice, and my all time favorite Football Player is the player in my picture... EDDIE ROCKS!!!

It would be a huge disrespect to not include Jim Brown among the short list of all-time greatest players, if not THE greatest player ever.

I think Tomlinson should go talk to his teammates *cough* antonio cromartie *cough* about showing class and not screwing up the game for them. He should be more worried about his own teammates flushing the game down the toilet for them, rather than bitching about the winning team celebrating a big win.

I never really bought into the myth about how lovely of a guy LT is. I mean i'm sure he's a decent guy, but the media tries so hard to make him the poster boy of the NFL, that they will give him free passes over things. I'm sure this won't be any exception.

For what it's worth, I heard Mike Greenberg, Jim Gray, Sean Salisbury, Tony Cornheiser, Michael Smith, and 1 or 2 other guys on ATH giving LT a hard time about this.

I'm just glad his season is over so I don't have to listen to him being referred to as "LT" anymore. THE "LT" belongs on everyones short list of greatest players ever to play the game. And, a case could be made that he was the greatest ever (not saying he was, but he certainly played his position as well if not better than anyone else ever played theirs).

Being upset after you choked away a game that an opposing player did a dance that your steroid addled teammate does after sacks?

:slappy:

Only a 10 year old would be upset. Or a pussy.

And if it were Merriman who did the whining it would be different.

The fact is that the "look at me" attitude among NFL players is getting beyond ridiculous. I would think the Patriots were above that. But they weren't and they deserved to be called out for it.

Sinking to new level: Pats? class takes hit
Boston Herald

Some may think Tomlinson, who refused to shake hands with the Patriots afterward, is a sore loser. But in many ways, he?s right; the Pats should act like they?ve been there before, just like Tomlinson does when he hands the ball to an official after scoring instead of showboating.

This franchise has won three Super Bowls. It?s been there, done that. Why start acting like children?
I realize this thread is probably beating a dead horse :horse: but this article was interesting in that it's written by a sport writer in Boston. I was curious to see what the "home crowds" thoughts were.

I don't agree with this statement at all. I've seen quite a few of his interviews and have been impressed with his modesty. While I'm not saying that his sincerity hasn't been fabricated, I think it's fair to say that I'd rather have a player like LT, who may one day be compared to the greatests, with a pretty good attitude than Jim Brown as the poster boy of the NFL. Personally, I think his story is very impressive.

Gee, next thing you know you'll be saying Peyton Manning and Notre Dame are media darlings too...madness!

Fire Marty and hire who? Thats the question, if good coaches grew on trees then the Browns, Cardinals and Lions might actually be competetive.

Well, the Browns, Chiefs, and Chargers have been very competitive under Marty, unless you consider reaching the Super Bowl as a measuring stick. Marty might very well be the best regular season coach in history...so maybe the Browns, Cards and Lions are exactly who need him, but the Chargers certainly don't.
