Official BCS-CG Bulletin Board Thread

I too am getting a tad concerned that we are going to come out of the gates trying too hard to defeat our demons in the first quarter. I think the guys have got to be patient and remember their assignments. The last thing we need is to get undisciplined for the sake of trying to bury the past..

I know they want to prove everyone wrong, but in a way...I still think they want to prove this game to themselves too. I'm curious to see what they will do if we get down 7-0 or 10-0 early in the first quarter. I really hope to see some resiliency instead of a here we go again mentality.

Personally, that's my biggest fear. We get down 10-0 and all of a sudden it's "oh no, they really are that much faster than us. They really do have all that SEC speed. We really didn't belong in this game".
But I doubt that that will happen. These guys know they belong here.

I'd rather not seethem get down by ten:biggrin:

But I agree resiliency is the key for the buckeyes

2002-got down by 7 and the offense looked anemic at best then they shook off the jitters and stepped up. The big thing is playing solid D to keep things within reach like in 2002 and pick up some turnovers. And for the record, I feel like they are more focused and not so much like enraged animals waiting to break out, so there shouldnt be that blow your wad in the first quater issue.

I don't know if this belongs in this thread or not but....

I was watching the NFL postgame show on Fox and Howie Long said that Terry Bradshaw was going with the "upset" and taking LSU.

They should not allow these NFL guys to discuss college football anymore.

The following doesn't mean that I disagree with your summary statement.

On my morning commute, I listed to CC and he had Gary Danielson on. The new fad this morning by CC is that JT is a great motivator who has convinced his team that they are actually hated EVEN THOUGH "all the big money is going on Ohio State". He also said that 7 out of 10 analysts at ESPiN have picked the Bucks. I hadn't heard anything about OSU being favored until I listened to the radio this morning. Personally, I think all the anti-OSU pundits are trying to cushion their potential fall from grace should OSU win. But I have no idea if the line, betting, analyst critiquing has changed with regard to the Bucks.

Regardless, I feel good about the game tonight. I felt great about the game last year, but this is a different kind of "good".

I am so sick of hearing about being 0-8 against SEC in bowl games. Whose fault was it? Fucking John Cooper!! He lost 6 of them!! He couldn't beat Meatchicken and he couldn't keep the teams focused for bowl games.

FEAR THE VEST!!

GO BUCKS!!

I feel good as well. To call an LSU win an upset is a complete joke. Honestly, if either team wins it will not be an upset in my eyes. These teams seem to match up well.

Pat Forde is getting ready to break down the game on ESPN2, I'm sure that'll be an entire bulletin board full of material.

What a shock, everyone involved in the discussion chose LSU in what was possibly the worst discussion of a game I've ever seen.

ESPN - 10 reasons Ohio State/LSU will win - College Football

Typical 10 reasons split-column that ESPN does every year for the championship game. Loved Maisel's #2 point ...

2. The DVD -- As Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Heacock said this week, "There's a natural instinct when someone tells you you're not really good to react to it." Not someone -- everyone in the media bad-mouthed the Buckeyes, not only for their loss to Florida a year ago, but for their weak schedule this season, for not belonging in New Orleans, for their choice of cologne, you name it. Jim Tressel had his video guys make a DVD for his players to watch. It's so comprehensive even Pat Forde and I are on it. Whatever we can do to help, guys.
