I imagine more yards on less carries.

Yes I imagine the same.

Beanie will not get 44 carries.

God, I wouldn't wish 44 carries on any running back. That is brutal.

I don't think he'll get 44 carries either, but I wouldn't be surprised to see another 25-30 carry day for Beanie.

tOSU OL will make or break it...

I woke up in a cold sweat this morning with the thought that our OL needs to step up more than anyone this week.

1) Cordle is young, has never played at Happy Valley, and missed several reads (pre-snap) against MSU last week. Dantonio had him spinning a bit in the second half (minus the last drive). If the croud is similar to 2005 (TS said he could barely call the play in the huddle) and PSU runs some covered blitz packages, I am worried if Cordle can relay those last-second calls.

2) The OL has had a tendency to "false start" a little this year. I know it's no more than normal teams, but we have been spoiled in the past! The crowd noise will probabaly lead to 3-4 false starts in this game.

If Corlde makes his reads, and our line has minimal jumps, we win by 14. However, if not, I think PSU is the favorite in a 10-7 game (TD scored by PSU defense). I personally am not emotionally ready to listen to PSU weenies another year.

Please let me know if I am looking too much into this game (tendency to do that)...I will get much better sleep this week.

FWIW, Mel Kiper's updated list of CBs, by class, as of Oct 17.

Top 5 Seniors:
1. Mike Jenkins, South Florida
2. Chevis Jackson, LSU
3. DeJuan Tribble, Boston College
4. Trae Williams, South Florida
5. Terrell Thomas, USC

Top 5 Juniors:
1. Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio St.
2. Reggie Smith, Oklahoma
3. Aqib Talib, Kansas
4. Justin King, Penn State
5. Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech

Again, these rankings were prior to this past weekend. Personally, after seeing USF's tandem get worked by Rutgers, and seeing Chevis Jackson get turned around by both UK (before being knocked out completely) and Auburn, I am inclined to believe MJ is the #1 CB among all Jrs and Srs right now.

Kiper did say on one of his chats that MJ is the top rated corner in either class.

Kirk Barton says he has had this game circled for two years. He was hurt early in 2005 and had to be replaced by Boone who - as a true Frosh getting some of his first real PT in front of the White Out - did not fare too well. My guess is Boone has circled it as well.

Our OL will be ready.

I'd not be surprised if the list of players with this one circled is about as long as that for the visit to Iowa City last year.

not to call you out, but people keep talking about the turnover margin as being a "key" part to the game for OSU

I know it's an easy thing to say...don't turn the ball over and they'll win, but truth is, OSU is at +0 for the season in turnover margin and yet we're still winning, and rather convincingly.

We didn't win the Michigan State game in a very convincing manner at all, and that was because we had the type of turnovers that can kill you. Aside from those two plays, the Buckeyes haven't had any non-safety red zone turnovers that I'm aware of. These are the turnovers I think everyone's referring to. (two straight sentences ending in prepositions, how's that for Engrish?) Getting PSU in good field position via a turnover would kill us, because the crowd will go nuts. If they score off of that turnover, it's '05 all over again.

That's a good point...I am already feeling a little better!
